Learning stairs as an above-knee amputee is a step-by-step process.

It starts with building balance, strength, and confidence, then progresses to weight shifting, stair safety, and using handrails. Most learn a “step-to” pattern first before advancing to alternating steps when appropriate.

With practice, proper training, and the right prosthetic support, stairs become another skill to master.

Everyone is talking about AI, but did you know that it's being used for incredible things in prosthetic technology?

Some newer prosthetics and smart orthotic devices use sensors, microprocessors, machine learning, or myoelectric control systems to help a device respond more naturally to the person using it. These new devices may improve gait, balance, and hand control while offering personalized movement support.

Request a free appointment with us to discuss whether you may be a good candidate for this new technology!

Our clients' strength inspires us every day! Meet Jett, a resilient 19-year-old living with limb loss:

“Just over two years ago, I was in a tragic car accident while driving home from a snowboarding trip. Over the last two years, I’ve been learning how to adapt and continue living life to the fullest. Last winter, I was finally able to get back on the mountain and go snowboarding again with some friends. It felt amazing to be out there again, and I’m looking forward to getting back out next winter.”

Another really successful and fun week at our Demo Days last week in Phoenix, Glendale, and Tucson!

Such a great opportunity for our team and the amputee community to connect and try out the latest technology in feet and knees. A big thanks to all who came out to try something new, to support others or to lend a hand. We are honored to be a part of this awesome community.❤️
