I wanted to speak from the heart over a comment that was left on someone’s post not recommending Roots Counseling because they don’t feel we have proper “certification” (I’m assuming they mean credentials)
At Roots Counseling, we believe our community deserves clear information about the professionals providing their care.
Our team includes 15 providers that are fully licensed and a couple provisionally licensed. We also have a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
Roots also utilizes interns and peer support professionals at times, with clients informed of their roles. Peer support is an additional resource and is not a substitute for professional counseling.
We welcome questions about your provider’s education, credentials, experience, and role in your care. Asking about qualifications is appropriate at any practice, including ours. You deserve to feel informed and comfortable with your care.
Mental health care should be a shared effort among professionals to help as many people as possible. We value collaboration with other practices and outside providers because our community benefits when we work together.
Our vision is that mental health support does not fit inside a single box. People have different needs, and we work hard to make support accessible, accommodate those needs, and help people connect with appropriate services.
To everyone who has trusted Roots with your care or your family’s care: thank you. Our focus remains on serving this community with compassion, transparency, and respect.
