There’s something pretty special about this part of the journey. 🖤

This week, we have three clients packing up their suitcases and moving on from The Cedar House — onward and upward into the next chapter of their recovery.

And at the very same time, we have three new clients walking through our doors with suitcases in hand, unpacking and beginning their next chapter with us.

It’s always bittersweet to say goodbye, but there’s nothing better than watching someone leave stronger, more confident, and ready for what’s next — while welcoming someone new and getting the opportunity to walk alongside them for this part of their journey.

This calming and beautiful space features a sauna, massage chairs, and red light therapy, providing another way to support rest, relaxation, and overall wellness on the recovery journey. 🖤

Yesterday was a perfect afternoon on The Cedar House rooftop! ☀️🏙️

With the beautiful Pittsburgh skyline as our backdrop, we were so grateful to co-host a networking event with Crossroads and DreamLife Recovery. Great conversations, new connections, and an incredible recovery community made for a memorable afternoon.

Recovery doesn't have an age limit.

Over the years, we've had the privilege of helping many older adults, retirees, and professionals rebuild their lives in recovery. While addiction can happen at any age, the challenges later in life can look different—retirement, isolation, grief, health concerns, and major life transitions can all take a toll.

At The Cedar House, we provide more than just a safe place to live. We help residents connect with doctors, therapists, recovery resources, family support, and meaningful activities that bring purpose back into daily life.

Whether we're attending a concert, visiting a museum, taking a walk in the park, enjoying chair yoga, or simply sharing a meal together, we believe recovery should be about living—not just abstaining.

We've watched residents arrive feeling isolated, discouraged, and physically limited, only to leave stronger, healthier, and more connected than they imagined possible.
