Do you have a bunch of fresh herbs left over from your summer garden? Don’t waste them!
My favorite way to use up fresh herbs that would otherwise go to waste is by making homemade herb salt. This seasoned salt can elevate just about any meal.
I’m using these little jars as gift toppers for the holidays.
What You’ll Need:
3 cups fresh herbs of your choice
1½ cups salt of your choice
Small mason jars for storage
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 200°F.
Rinse your herbs and pat them dry with a paper towel. Allow them to sit out until completely dry. Any excess moisture can cause the salt to clump.
Once dry, add the herbs and salt to a food processor and pulse until well combined.
Spread the seasoned salt evenly onto a sheet pan and bake for 2–3 hours, or until completely dry.
Allow the salt to cool completely before transferring it to airtight mason jars for storage.
I love using this salt to season steaks, pasta, and just about anything that needs a little extra flavor.
