This past week, two team members of COREโ€™s Donor Family Services team traveled to Kansas City for the Best Practices Summit, organized by Sean Jordan, Research Director at The Research & Planning Group (RPG).

The summit brought together professionals from Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) and hospital partners to discuss industry-wide best practices, share insights, and explore opportunities to strengthen collaboration across the donation community.

Topics included supporting hospital partners throughout the donation process, improving collaboration between OPOs and hospitals, and enhancing aftercare and ongoing support for donor families.

Attending events like this gives our team valuable opportunities to learn from others in the field, exchange ideas, and bring new perspectives back to CORE. Weโ€™re proud of our Donor Family Services teamโ€™s continued commitment to learning and providing compassionate support to the families we serve. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š

Big congratulations to Centerville Clinics, Inc. right here in western Pennsylvania! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ†

Centerville Clinics earned Platinum recognition as the top-performing health center in this year's Donate Life Pennsylvania Community Health Center Challenge!

This week, CORE's Community Outreach Coordinator Sara Chesler is in Lancaster for the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers (PACHC) Annual Conference and Clinical Summit, where CORE is recognizing community health centers that participated in the August challenge.

The challenge encourages federally qualified health centers across Pennsylvania to raise awareness about organ, tissue and cornea donation. These health centers are trusted voices in their communities, helping patients and families learn about donation and the power of saying YES to saving lives.

We're especially proud to celebrate Centerville Clinics for leading the way and grateful to every participating health center for helping spread the Donate Life message!

With the holiday season approaching we understand these times can feel different when someone you love is missing. Traditions that once brought joy can bring unexpected sadness. Familiar moments can feel unfamiliar. And sometimes, it helps just to be around people who understand.
This holiday season, CORE invites anyone navigating grief to join us for Coping with Holiday Grief, a free virtual gathering offering a gentle, supportive space to connect, hear from others who have experienced loss and explore ways to navigate the season.
Whether you're part of a donor family, the family of a donor in spirit or simply missing someone you love, you are welcome here.
There's no pressure to share your story or turn on your camera. You're welcome to simply listen.

CORE was proud to be represented at the Community Liver Alliance National Liver Gathering in Pittsburgh, where leaders from across the transplant, liver health, research, and patient advocacy communities came together to advance collaboration and improve outcomes for patients.

The National Liver Gathering focuses on the intersection of humanity and academic medicine, bringing together patients, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and advocates to drive meaningful change in liver health.

On October 10, CORE President & CEO Deb Maurer, RN, MBA, joined the conference as a featured speaker, while Laura Cwynar, CORE Organ Recovery Manager, participated in the panel discussion,โ€œThe Transplant Journey.โ€

Laura shared the stage with Sean DeYoung, Chief Operating Officer of Community Liver Alliance and a liver transplant recipient, helping highlight the powerful impact of organ donation and transplantation through both professional expertise and lived experience.

Thank you to Community Liver Alliance for convening this important national conversation and for continuing to elevate the voices of patients, caregivers, and transplant professionals. Together, we are creating hope, saving lives, and strengthening the future of transplantation.

Rain or shine, the fight against kidney disease continues! ๐Ÿ’š

CORE was proud to see advocates come together at this yearโ€™s Kidney Walk to raise awareness, support the kidney community, and celebrate the power of donation. Weโ€™re grateful to everyone who showed up, donated, and helped make a difference despite the rainy weather!

We also appreciate the National Kidney Foundation for organizing this impactful event and spending the weekend in Pittsburgh raising awareness about kidney health and disease. Weโ€™re proud to be part of a community dedicated to making a difference!

Together, we can raise awareness, inspire hope, and make a lasting impact. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š

Today, we honor Donor Hero Tina Libertini, RN, a devoted mother and grandmother, caring nurse, dear friend, and a woman whose life was defined by kindness, compassion, and love for others. ๐Ÿ’™

Tina had a true passion for nursing and caring for others, always going out of her way to help those around her. She had a special gift for making people feel loved, included, and cared for, and she was always there whenever someone needed her.

Above all, Tina cherished her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, making memories on family vacations, gathering for holidays, and celebrating life's special moments. She also enjoyed shopping, meeting friends for lunch, and expressing her unique sense of style.

That same caring spirit lives on through her final act of generosity. Tina became an organ donor giving others the opportunity for more time with the people they love. โค๏ธ

Tina's family remembers her as the heart of their family and a light to everyone she met. Her legacy of love, compassion, and giving will continue to touch lives for years to come.

Thank you, Tina, for all you gave to others. You will always be remembered and deeply missed.

CORE was honored to welcome a group of medical students from UNISINOS in Brazil! ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ’™

During their visit, the students shared insights into how organ and tissue donation is approached in Brazil while learning more about COREโ€™s role in the donation process across our region. It was a meaningful opportunity to exchange knowledge, perspectives, and ideas around the shared mission of saving and improving lives through donation.

Weโ€™re grateful for the opportunity to connect with the next generation of healthcare professionals and learn from one another! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š

Yesterday, CORE was proud to be part of the MASH Across America presented by Madrigal Pharmaceuticals, bringing education and awareness about liver health and liver disease to the community!

Attendees had the opportunity to step inside a giant inflatable liver and learn more about liver disease through an interactive, hands-on experience.

CORE also had the opportunity to connect with community members at our table, sharing information about organ and tissue donation and the impact of giving the gift of life. We were especially grateful to have several of our dedicated CORE advocates and volunteers join us, helping us engage with the community and spread the message of donation.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, learned something new, and connected with CORE! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š
