We are proud to be a part of the host team for this event because the community center is probably one of the best-kept secrets in the Northside network of care for vulnerable folks and we are proud to have our Ìyá Pittsburgh office located there.

Midwife Assistant Training in Pittsburgh this Autumn!

✨MIDWIFE ASSISTANT TRAINING✨

Come join us at Ìyá Pittsburgh and learn the necessary social and clinical skills to assist midwives at homebirths.
- charting
- taking vitals & monitoring (client & fetal)
- assessing SROM
- assisting in emergencies
- immediate postpartum care/assessment
- and more!

This training is for practicing birthworkers and student midwives who are early in their training. This training is not for brand new or aspiring birthworkers. Participants will still need CPR and NRP or Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) in order to assist at births. Ìyá Pittsburgh will be offering HBB in January 2027.

PWCY Sliding Scale $50-$350

Midwives, Physicians, & Students: Come join us & increase your breech & twin birth competency & birth attendance skills with a full 9.5 hour lecture day followed by a 4 hour hands on simulation morning or afternoon.

Lecture 9am-7pm, Nov. 6th, 2026
Simulation 9am-1pm or 2pm-6pm, Nov. 7th or 8th
(An additional day of sims will be added with enough sign-ups.)

Lecture-only $300 (incl. 9.5 ACNM CEUs)
