Happy World Anesthesia Day!

On October 16, 1846, the first successful public demonstration of ether anesthesia marked a turning point in medicine, paving the way for safer surgery and advancements in anesthetic care.

180 years later, innovation continues to shape the field. From advances in regional anesthesia and acute pain management to new approaches in chronic pain care, anesthesiology continues to transform how we prevent, manage, and treat pain.

Today, ASRA Pain Medicine celebrates the physicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals who continue to advance science, improve patient outcomes, and shape the future of regional anesthesia and pain medicine.
