Saint Michael… Pretty classic tattoo imagery. Good versus evil. Protector. Defender. Vanquisher of evil.

I had never met Mike before. He just walked into the shop one Saturday.

I’ve been working Saturdays for 25 years. Just the way she goes. I have plenty of clients who can’t take time off work during the week to come satisfy their need for a little tattoo therapy. So I make myself available. Always have. It’s part of the job, and it’s part of taking care of the people who support what I do.

Over the last few months, I’ve gotten to know Mike pretty well. This is one of the tattoos we’ve done on him.

Pretty awesome guy. Pretty awesome tattoo. Pretty awesome job we have.

And I appreciate it every damn day.

I’ve been tattooing this dude for over 15 years now… noticing a theme with some of these posts?

Relationships with clients can last the duration of a career. You build trust, you do good work, you treat people right, and they keep coming back. Over the years, they stop being just clients and become friends.

You either nurture those relationships and allow them to grow… or you act like an as***le and starve. 😂

We finally finished up Curt’s sleeve!

I started tattooing Curt many, many years ago, right out of my apprenticeship. The upper portion of this arm was done well over 15 years ago—with some of it getting pretty damn close to 20!

After all these years, Curt finally came back in so we could bring the sleeve all the way down onto his hand. The pirate ship, anchor, tentacles and finger work are all part of the new addition, tying everything into the work we started together all those years ago.

We’ve still got more to come with Curt, but I think it’s pretty damn cool to have a client who’s stuck with me for this many years and is still coming back for more.

Thanks for the trust and loyalty all these years, Curt.
