🧬 A cancer target once considered “undruggable” is now leading to new treatment options.
A new article from the National Cancer Institute explores decades of research into RAS mutations, which help drive approximately one-third of all cancers and are found in most pancreatic cancers.
That research recently contributed to the FDA approval of daraxonrasib for certain adults with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma. In a randomized phase 3 trial involving 500 patients, median overall survival was 13.2 months with daraxonrasib compared with 6.7 months with standard chemotherapy. 🔬
The treatment is not appropriate for every patient and carries important risks. Eligibility depends on factors such as diagnosis, previous treatment, and overall health.
At Infuze MD, we believe comprehensive cancer care should remain informed by tumor biology, clinical evidence, and each patient’s individual needs. 💙
