I really hate having to make a post like this, but Iโm asking for a little help.
Last night I found my cat, Myrrh, curled up in my barn crying and unable to walk. I rushed her to the vet today, where X-rays showed that she has a serious leg injury. Iโve already spent more than $500 on diagnostics, and she now needs emergency surgery that is expected to cost around $10,000.
Sheโs only five, and Iโm doing everything I can to give her the chance to keep her leg rather than facing amputation.
Myrrh is so much more than a farm cat. She is probably the sweetest and friendliest animal on the farm, and she has been an incredibly important part of my life. When my brother died, she was one of the constants that got me through itโthe little cuddle bug who was always there. Seeing her in pain and knowing I canโt simply fix this for her has been heartbreaking.
I work hard to support myself through my farm and through my Hidden History work, but Iโm an autistic adult living on a limited income, and an unexpected expense of this size is simply beyond what I can manage on my own.
This also means that every dollar I have to put toward this emergency is money that canโt go toward keeping the farm running or producing the Hidden History videos I love making for you. I donโt want this to interrupt either of those things, but right now, Myrrh has to come first.
I know everyone is dealing with their own expenses, so please donโt feel pressured. If youโre able to donate even a few dollars, it would genuinely help. And if you canโt donate, sharing this post is just as appreciated.
Iโve set up a GoFundMe to help cover Myrrhโs surgery and veterinary care. The link is below/in my bio.
Thank you for caring about Myrrh, about the farm, and about the work I do here.โค๏ธ
