Masthead Pink Breast Surgery Products for the Modern Woman

Masthead Pink was founded in early 2011 by Elizabeth Chabner Thompson, MD, MPH, a New York physician and former breast surgery patient who observed both professionally and personally the acute need for a comprehensive line of products that would improve the patient experience before, during and after surgery and other treatment for cancer, breast reconstruction, traumatic brain injury, cesarean childbirth and other conditions. Our mission focuses upon developing products and services, which improve the patient experience before, during and after hospitalization in a way that preserves dignity and enhances recovery while maintaining the highest ethical standards and transparency. “As an artist, my hands and arms are essential to everything I do. Navigating a bilateral mastectomy, DIEP flap surgery, and final reconstruction meant facing limited range of motion and learning to navigate even the simplest daily tasks.

The Masthead Elizabeth Surgical Bra made those challenging stages of recovery so much easier. The front Velcro closure made changing convenient without struggling to lift my arms, while the adjustable shoulder straps allowed for quick, painless removal. The built-in loops kept my surgical drains secure, accessible, and out of the way.

Through three major surgeries, it was the little details that made the biggest difference. When your body is healing, comfort, independence, and dignity mean everything.”

We’re so grateful to Marjoriet Gueche for sharing such an honest look at her recovery and for letting us be a small part of it. Her experience is such a reminder that during recovery, the details that make everyday life a little easier can matter so much. 🩷

Sometimes the right post-surgery bra comes down to the details that work best for you. 💗

The Estelle Recovery Bra offers a front hook-and-eye closure for anyone looking for an alternative to Velcro, along with adjustable straps that make it easy to fine-tune the fit.

It’s soft, underwire-free and designed with supportive compression, without molded cups. Built-in pockets also allow for a breast form, prosthesis or ice packs when needed.

For patients and providers looking at different recovery needs and preferences, Estelle is another thoughtful option to have in the mix.

Available in sizes XS–7XL.

Today is National Mammography Day. 🩷

If scheduling your mammogram has been sitting on your to-do list, this is a good day to finally make the call.

And while you’re thinking about breast health, take a minute to check in with your body, too. Pay attention to what’s normal for you and anything that feels different.

A simple reminder, but an important one.

Recovery looks different for everyone. 🩷

The Elizabeth Pink Surgical Bra® was designed for those earliest days after surgery, when thoughtful support can make a meaningful difference.

For years, it has been worn by patients and used in hospitals as part of post-surgical recovery. Every detail was created with medical insight, patient comfort and real recovery needs in mind.

It’s one of the styles that helped shape Masthead from the beginning, and today, it’s also being used to support people recovering from heart surgery.

If you’re not sure what size or style might work best for you, we’re always happy to help.

You’ve got this. You’ve got us.

It’s all about relationships! 🩷

Last week, I had the honor of spending the day with leaders in breast cancer care at Legacy Cancer Institute’s 21st Annual Pacific Northwest Excellence in Breast and Gynecologic Cancer Care Conference.

Ricki Fairley, who I first met more than a decade ago, inspired us with the work of TOUCH, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance, and its When We Tri(al) movement, highlighting the importance of collective participation and expanding access to clinical trials.

We also reviewed some of the most important research shaping clinical practice, explored the next generation of cancer care with Nikhil Thaker, MD, MBA, and his AI heatmaps, and heard Lori Eckel, Carley Jones and Gina Westhoff, MD, lead an important conversation around the emotional cost of oncology care.

The mutual appreciation for colleagues, patients and the work being done across cancer care was palpable throughout the standing-room-only crowd on Hayden Island.

Masthead is fortunate to play a role in breast surgery recovery and in the collaborative work happening at Legacy. Thank you to everyone involved for your continued commitment to providing the very best care for patients.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month can mean something different to everyone.

For the patients, survivors, families, caregivers and loved ones in our community, we know October can hold a lot of different emotions. There is no one right way to feel about this month.

We’re grateful for organizations like Breastcancer.org that continue to make space for all of it, while providing trusted information, resources and support to those affected by breast cancer. 💗

We were so happy to be part of NYU Langone Health’s 11th Annual Breast Health Symposium – Personalized Breast Cancer Care. 💗

The day brought together healthcare professionals to discuss important developments across breast care, including screening, high-risk breast lesions, genetic testing, radiation therapy and metastatic breast cancer treatment.

It was a great opportunity to learn, connect and be part of conversations around more personalized care for patients at every stage.

And what a meaningful way to begin Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Thank you to NYU Langone Health for such a thoughtful day, and to everyone who stopped by the Masthead table to say hello.

Sometimes after breast surgery, the goal is support without compression directly over the breast.

That can be especially important after reconstruction, when healing tissue, skin flaps or the ni**le may need to be protected from unnecessary pressure over the surgical site.

The Celeste Pectonic® was designed with that in mind. Its 3D-knit construction provides targeted compression through the underarm, underneath the breast and across the back, while keeping pressure over the breast mound, skin flap and ni**les to a minimum.

So instead of compressing the entire chest, the Celeste provides support around the breast while reducing pressure directly over areas that may be healing.

It’s one of the reasons different surgeries can call for very different kinds of post-surgical support. 💗

09/28/2026

Post-surgical support should be part of the plan, not an afterthought.

That’s why we appreciated this post from Ann L Chuang MD MPH FACS, who sends most of her lumpectomy patients home in a post-surgical bra.

She looks for soft, wire-free support, a front opening, and adjustability to help make those early days after surgery a little easier.

We’re grateful to see the Elizabeth Pink Surgical Bra® being used as part of that care. 💗
