🚨 ONE SIMPLE. FREE. WELLNESS TIP FOR YOUR FAMILY THIS COLD & FLU SEASON 👇🏼
✨ CUT BACK ON ADDED SUGAR. ✨
This is one of the easiest, most overlooked steps we can take to support our family’s overall health and wellness — especially with cold & flu season and the holidays approaching!
🍭 The American Heart Association recommends that children ages 2–18 consume no more than 24 grams of added sugar per day.
And sugar adds up FAST. Breakfast cereal, flavored yogurt, granola bars, juice, holiday treats… before you know it, our kids can hit that limit before the day is even over!
Why does this matter? 👇🏼
🩷 Sugar can suppresses your immune system up to 45% for 4 to 5 hours after consumption!
🩷 Sugar blocks vitamin C from entering cells
🩷 Excess added sugar can contribute to inflammation and poor overall health when consumed regularly.
🩷 High blood sugar can affect certain immune functions.
🩷 A diet high in added sugar can crowd out the nutrient-dense foods our bodies need to function their best.
And here’s your reminder: you don’t need another expensive supplement or complicated wellness routine to get started!
✨ Choose water more often.
✨ Read labels and compare added sugars.
✨ Swap sugary snacks for fruit, protein, and whole-food options.
✨ Save sweets for intentional treats instead of making them an everyday staple.
We can’t control every germ our families encounter, but we CAN be more intentional about the habits that support their health. 🌿
As a mom of 3, I’m all about simple, sustainable changes that make a difference over time. Small choices add up!
💬 Comment SUGAR if you’re joining me in being more intentional about added sugar this season! And SAVE this as your reminder before the holiday treats arrive. ❤️ and SHARE with those you love to empower them with education
