Three of our TTB dietitians spent last Friday at The Gateway to Innovation Conference in St. Louis, learning alongside other eating disorder professionals and bringing new ideas back to our work. 🫶
We asked each of them to share a few of their biggest takeaways from the day:
💭 Kate: "SO many takeaways, but if I had to pick one, it would be learning more about different therapeutic modalities. I loved the reminder that RDs can draw from these frameworks to better understand and support our clients through all sorts of behavior change, not just eating disorders. Feeling more confident incorporating these approaches into my sessions is a big goal of mine for 2027, so this talk felt especially timely!”
💭 Emma: "We had a great time at NetworkED event! It's so hard to choose one takeaway, but one of the biggest themes of the conference was that collaboration with each other and with our clients is KEY to successful treatment. This conference featured attendees and sponsors from various professions and it was so cool to all come together in the same room to connect and learn about how we can better work together, and include our clients, to create successful, client led treatment interventions."
💭 Jessica: “One of my favorite sessions was the discussion on midlife, body image, menopause, and hormone therapy. I appreciated learning more about the natural changes that occur during menopause and the concept of body grief that can come with those changes. As a dietitian who works with many midlife women, having a better understanding of menopause and the changes happening in the body will help me feel better equipped to support clients through these conversations and approach body image with greater compassion and context.”
A big thank you to NetworkED for putting together such a thoughtful day of continuing education, connection, and conversation around eating disorder care. We’re grateful to have opportunities like this right here in our community! 💛
