Does hormone therapy really expire after 5 years? Myth or truth?

Dr. Brandon Lingenfelter explains: hormone therapy doesn't have an automatic stop date. We review the risks and benefits with each patient every year. Pills and patches aren't identical (estrogen through the skin may carry a lower clot risk than pills), and vaginal estrogen stays mostly local.

Today, on Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we pause to remember every baby gone too soon, through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. We also hold close every mother, father, grandparent, and family who carries that love.

However brief their time, each little life matters and is remembered. Your grief is real, and so is your love.

Tonight, families around the world will join the Wave of Light by lighting a candle at 7 PM local time and letting it burn for one hour. If it feels right for you, we invite you to light one too, in quiet remembrance. 🕯️

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted." (Psalm 34:18)

Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, you are not alone. We're here for you. 💗

With love,

Team Pink, reporting for duty 💗

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so the Summit Women's Health crew swapped our usual look for pink scrubs.

Here's why. Every one of us has said some version of this to a sister, mom, aunt, or best friend: get screened. Today we're saying it to you, with love. 😊

If you're due for a mammogram, make the appointment that fits your life. Screening saves lives.

Then do us one favor: tag the person you'd send this reminder to. 💗

🕯️ ONE WAVE. A MILLION MEMORIES. EVERY BABY REMEMBERED. 🕯️

This Thursday, October 15, at 7:00 PM, let’s light the world with love.

A tiny heartbeat. A nursery that was never filled. A name whispered in our hearts. A lifetime of love for someone whose time with us was far too short.

Behind every statistic is a baby who mattered, a family forever changed, and a love that never ends.

💔 The reality is heartbreaking:
• 1 in 10 pregnancies ends in miscarriage.
• Approximately 1 in 175 births is affected by stillbirth.
• In 2024, more than 20,000 babies in the United States died before their first birthday.
• Among those deaths, approximately 3,400 were sudden unexpected infant deaths, including 1,351 attributed to SIDS.

These are more than numbers. They are precious lives. They are families who remember.

🕯️ JOIN THE WAVE OF LIGHT

This Thursday at 7:00 PM local time, light a candle in memory of every baby gone too soon. Share your light. Share a name, if you wish. Stand beside a family who may be grieving silently.

Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, whether your baby was with you for a moment or longer, your baby matters. Your grief matters. Your love matters.

At 7 PM, one candle becomes thousands. Thousands become a wave of light that travels around the world—a reminder that no family should have to grieve alone and no baby should ever be forgotten.

Their lives were brief. Their impact is forever. Their light will never be lost. 🤍

🕯️ Thursday, October 15 | 7:00 PM local time

Please share this post to help the light reach another family who needs to know they are not alone.

What's the deal with Pap smears? 🤔 Aunt Karen says yearly forever. TikTok says never. Your clinician says: it depends on your age, your history, and your past results. Not sure when you're due and want to talk it through? Call 681-282-5591 to schedule an appointment, and we'll make a plan together. 💜

Leaking when you cough, laugh, or sneeze isn't a mom badge you have to wear forever.

It's common, but it's not normal, and it's treatable. First-line treatment is pelvic floor physical therapy. In a Cochrane review on stress leakage, 56% of women who did pelvic floor muscle training reported cure, vs. 6% without. Give it 3–6 months. If it isn't working, come back and see us. There are other options, from medical to surgical. Leaking that comes with urgency or frequency is treated differently.

Call 681-282-5591 to schedule an appointment, and we'll make a plan together.

Save and share this for the mom who thinks leaking is just the price of having kids.

Our team, dancing in pink 💗 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this is your friendly nudge: if you're due for your screening, get it on the calendar. Not sure when you should start? Ask your provider at your next visit. 💪

Kegels aren't a personality. 🙃 They get all the press, and they help plenty of people, but they're not a cure-all. Some pelvic floors are weak. Some are tight and overworking. Some leaks are about urethral support, hormones, constipation, or a cough that could win awards. Doing random reps with no evaluation is strength training with your eyes closed. If leaks are picking your outfits, get evaluated, then train smart. Call 681-282-5591 to schedule an appointment, and we'll make a plan together. 💜
