A Little Holiday Scheduling Reminder

With November and December quickly approaching, I encourage anyone hoping to schedule a massage during the holiday season to book their appointments in advance!

My availability will be more limited than usual over the coming months. While I absolutely love the work I do and the people I get to share it with, spending quality time with my family during the holidays is a priority of mine.

I want to make sure those who need a little relaxation, relief, or simply an hour to themselves during the holiday chaos have the opportunity to get on my schedule.

Please plan ahead, as appointments will be limited!

Thank you for continuing to support The Last Rockhold and allowing me to create a balance between doing what I love and being present for the people I love most.

I’ve realized something about myself lately:

I’m not a masseuse. And honestly, even “massage therapist” doesn’t fully describe what I feel like I do.

I am a bodyworker.

When somebody walks through my door moving slowly because they hurt… when they’re exhausted because their body hasn’t let them rest in months… when I can see in their face that they are just so damn tired of being uncomfortable in their own skin — something in me switches on.

I want to help.

Not halfway. Not just enough to fill an hour.

I give myself to my work.

Sometimes my hands ache. Sometimes I leave work feeling the nerves in my own arms screaming at me. I know body mechanics. I know how important it is to protect myself. But there is something incredibly difficult for me about feeling someone’s pain underneath my hands and not giving everything I have to help their body soften, release and remember what relief feels like.

And I think this connects to my spirituality more than people might realize.

I don’t worship Jesus from a place of separation, as though He is something I could never touch or understand.

I see Jesus as my brother.

My teacher.

Someone who showed me what it looks like to recognize the Divine inside of human beings and then actually serve them.

He touched people.

He sat with people others avoided.

He brought comfort to suffering.

He reminded people who they were.

And one of the greatest things I believe He taught was that we are children of God, too. That the Divine isn’t somewhere far away waiting for us to become worthy enough to reach it.

It is here.

Inside of us.

And maybe my path looks a little different from the version of spirituality many of us were handed growing up. Maybe my healing work, Reiki, meditation, sound, intuition and the way I understand God doesn’t always fit neatly into somebody else’s box.

That’s okay.

Because I know the fruit of the life I’m living.

People leave my room standing taller.
Breathing deeper.
Moving easier.
Crying something out they’ve carried too long.
Sometimes simply feeling cared for when they desperately needed someone to care.

That feels righteous to me.

That feels like service.

That feels like walking the path I was shown.

So no… I don’t think I simply “give massages.”

I put my hands on hurting humans and ask their bodies what they need.

And then I listen.

That is bodywork.

And to me, it is sacred work.

If your body is tired of carrying it all, my table is here…..

“My neck ALWAYS hurts right here.”

“I have this knot under my shoulder blade that never goes away.”

“My hip feels like it needs to pop.”

“My arm goes numb when I sleep.”

“My headaches always start at the base of my skull.”

“My lower back only hurts when I stand or walk for too long.”

“My shoulder hurts… but only when I move it THIS way.”

👆 I want to hear THAT.

When you’re on my table, I’m not just asking, “Where does it hurt?” and rubbing the spot you point to.

I’m listening to how it hurts.

Where does it start?
Where does it travel?
What movement makes it happen?
Does it ache, burn, pull, tingle, pinch or feel stuck?

Because your answers give me clues about which muscles may actually be involved—and sometimes the place screaming the loudest isn’t where the problem started.

Tell me what your body has been doing.

Then let the muscle archeologist go to work. 🔎

Do your feet revolt against the day the moment you step out of bed?
That first step should not feel like a personal attack.
Plantar fasciitis can be stubborn, but The Last Rockhold knows how to dig through the layers, calm the angry tissue, and help your feet stop screaming “OUCH” before coffee.
Your feet carry the whole kingdom. Let’s treat them like it. 👣♥️☀️

I can’t promise magic in one session, but give me three and your feet may start writing my review for you.😉

Efficient doesn’t mean rushed.

When I say I’m an efficient therapist, I don’t mean I’m flying through your massage like I’m late for a flight.

I mean every minute on my table has a purpose.

I’m not just rubbing the area that hurts and hoping for the best. I’m listening with my hands. I’m feeling for the muscle that’s gripping, guarding, compensating, or waving a tiny little red flag like, “Hi, it’s me. I’m the problem.”

My work is slow, intentional, and calculated.

Sometimes that means I hold pressure in one spot longer than you expect. Sometimes that means we breathe there together. Sometimes that means I follow the tension somewhere completely different than where you thought it started.

Because muscles don’t always release from being bullied.

Sometimes they release when they feel safe enough to let go.

So no, I’m not wasting time.

I’m measuring it.

I’m using it.

I’m letting your nervous system catch up with your body.

That’s efficient bodywork.

Not rushed.
Not random.
Just deeply intentional.

Come lay on my table. I’ll find the spot your body has been gossiping about.
