NEWS: FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, including its Hoke and Richmond campuses, has once again earned recognition in the U.S. News and World Report Best Hospitals ranking for 2026, ranking 9th in North Carolina.

In addition to the overall state ranking, Moore Regional received high-performing acknowledgements in several procedures and conditions and a specialty ranking for Rehabilitation.

Topping out ceremonies date back centuries, honoring the work behind and expressing a wish for safety in the work ahead. 🏗️

Over the last two weeks, we have had the joy of holding topping out ceremonies at our Moore Regional Hospital - Hoke Campus to mark an exciting milestone in our expansion project.

We are counting the days until we open 24 new inpatient beds and an expanded medical office building that will strengthen access to high-quality care for patients in Hoke County and surrounding communities. This project represents people, progress and FirstHealth’s core purpose: To Care for People.

Progress continues! Construction crews are hard at work on the expansion project at our Hoke campus.

This $50 million project will add two dozen inpatient beds to our hospital and includes a 15,560-square-foot addition to the existing medical office building.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT | Ebony Jackson-Brooks has been a part of the FirstHealth family since 2013. She started in the main lab at Moore Regional Hospital - Hoke Campus, working the early shift that began at 4 a.m.

After the birth of her fifth child in 2016, Ebony transitioned to the lab at FirstHealth Primary Care-Hoke, allowing for a schedule that gave her more time with her family while continuing the work she loves.

Today, Ebony says what she enjoys most about her role is the connection she builds with patients. While she appreciated her time in the hospital lab, working in primary care has allowed her to form meaningful relationships with the people she sees every day. “Patients get to know me and ask about my family when they come in each year for appointments,” she shared.

Ebony currently helps provide lab services for more than 50 patients a day alongside the clinic’s five providers. She’s excited about the continued growth of the MRH-Hoke campus and is especially looking forward to the expanded clinic and lab space included in the medical office building expansion.
