North Carolina Nurses Association Mission: The North Carolina Nurses Association serves the changing needs of its members.

Since 1902, the North Carolina Nurses Association has been the voice for North Carolina’s registered nurses. Formed by a group of nurses, the first objective of NCNA was the pursuit of the Nursing Practice Act, making North Carolina the first state in the nation to legalize the registration of nurses. Members of the North Carolina Nurses Association continue to be recognized nationally for having a significant impact on the profession and for advancing quality care in a variety of practice settings! NCNA leads the charge in the quest to keep North Carolina nurses on the cutting edge of nursing policy, education, practice and more. NCNA is proud to be the only nursing association in the state that represents all of North Carolina’s Registered Nurses. We encourage you to become a part of professional nursing by joining NCNA!

Nurses in Wilkesboro and Asheville, this is your chance to connect with fellow nurses, hear what’s happening at the NC General Assembly, and have real conversations with state lawmakers about the issues affecting nursing and healthcare in your community.
Never been to an advocacy event before? That’s completely fine! Just come ready to listen, ask questions, and join the conversation.

Early voting starts today in North Carolina!
A civically engaged community is also a healthier one. Nurses see firsthand how policy decisions affect their patients, their practice, and their workplace. Voting is just one way to bring that experience into the decisions shaping our communities.
Make your plan to vote:
• Early voting runs until 3 p.m. on October 31
• Vote at any early voting site in your county
• Register and vote on the same day during in-person early voting
• Bring an acceptable photo ID
2026 is a midterm election, but Congress isn't alone on the ballot. All 170 state legislative seats are being voted on, as well as judges, constitutional amendments, and municipal seats. Find locations, hours, and voting requirements at the North Carolina Board of Elections website!
Check your voter registration and a sample ballot here: https://www.ncsbe.gov/voting/your-voter-record
Your experience matters. Your vote does, too.
