Wedding planning has a way of bringing our attention back to our bodies.

When I reviewed questionnaires completed by the brides and couples I have met, 71% said they wanted to lose weight before their wedding.

But the number is not where I want the conversation to end.

Why does losing weight feel important to you?

How do you want to feel on your wedding day?

What is happening in your life right now?

How much capacity do you realistically have to make changes?

I believe people are capable of meaningful change. I also believe the plan needs to be built around their actual lives.

Sometimes our work results in weight loss. Sometimes the focus shifts toward nourishment, sleep, stress, movement, or building a foundation that may make weight loss more sustainable later.

That shift does not mean the original goal failed.

It means we are paying attention to the person behind the number.

I explore this more deeply in this week’s Wellness Wednesday, “When the Picture Changes.”

For many couples, the first family they build together begins before the engagement, the wedding, or the walk down the aisle.

It begins with a dog.

The one who is there for date nights at home, big decisions, moves, difficult seasons, exciting news, and all the ordinary days in between.

Victor Julio was our fur baby before our family grew, and he continues to be such an important part of it. Of course, we had to celebrate him today. 🐕🐾🐶🐩

Happy National Dog Day to all the couples whose love story includes four paws.

Did your fur baby come before the ring, or did they join your family afterward? Share a picture in the comments so we can celebrate them too!🐾

One of the biggest shifts I see as a client's wedding gets closer is that the routine we've built together sometimes needs to change.

You still have work, meals to figure out, laundry, family responsibilities and everything else that makes up your normal week.

Now add the vendor meeting on Thursday, a bridal shower on Saturday, and family coming into town on Sunday.

This probably isn't the week to expect yourself to follow the exact same routine you had six months ago.

That doesn't mean we're abandoning the goal.

We adjust the strategy.

Maybe meal prepping becomes meal planning.

Maybe you pack snacks because you know you'll be out all day.

Maybe five workouts become three.

Maybe you protect your evening walk together, even if it's only 15 minutes.

This is something I talk about often with my Wedding Wellness clients because consistency doesn't always look the same.

Sometimes consistency is knowing which habits help you feel your best and finding a way to protect them when life gets full.

We're not building habits for an imaginary, perfectly planned life. We're building them for yours.

A few weeks ago, this was what wellness looked like for us.

We were in the middle of moving. There were boxes everywhere, routines were changing, and there was always something else that needed to get done.

And somewhere in the middle of it, we stopped and went for a walk.

The boxes were still going to be there when we got back.

But we all needed the break.

Fresh air. Movement. Time together. A chance to step away from everything that felt urgent for a little while.

There are seasons when wellness looks like meal prep, consistent workouts, and feeling completely in a rhythm.

And there are seasons when it looks like putting down the packing tape, grabbing the stroller and the dog, and getting outside together.

The foundation didn't disappear. It just looked different in that season.

I think that's something we don't talk about enough.

Wellness doesn't have to look the same in every season to still be supporting you.

Today was a fun one 🎙️

I got to spend part of my day recording a podcast with Dr. Lisette Rollins of Spinal Couture, and I’m pretty sure we abandoned the planned questions almost immediately. 😂

And I loved it.

We talked, we laughed, we went down a few different rabbit holes, and somehow covered everything from what I did before health coaching to wedding wellness and a whole lot in between.

But my favorite part was getting to have this conversation with someone who has become such a good friend over the past year. 🤍

Also, when I tell you I recommend Dr. Lisette, I REALLY mean it. I drive over 30 minutes to South Plainfield to see her. 😂

I’m excited (and maybe slightly nervous 😬) to hear how our very unscripted conversation comes together.

Episode coming next week! 🎙️

My Apple Watch died this morning.

Part of my brain said: “Let it charge first so your workout counts.”

The other side said: “You don’t have enough time. Just start.”

So I got on the bike.

My watch still wasn’t fully charged when I finished.

A reminder I needed today: healthy habits don’t only count when they’re tracked. They count when you show up.

Not every workout will be perfect.
Not every routine will look pretty.
But consistency builds results.

Busy season. Mom life. Wedding planning. Work deadlines.

Show up anyway. 🤍

What’s one habit you’re working on staying consistent with right now?

If there’s one thing I notice with almost every bride and couple I work with, it’s this:

Your self-care is the first thing that goes on the back burner.

Not because you don’t care about it
but because you’re trying to hold everything else together.

Work.
Family.
Planning.
The excitement.
The pressure.

Your wedding checklist keeps growing.

Timelines.
Decisions.
Appointments.
Deadlines.

But nothing in it is actually supporting you.

That’s where I come in.

I take your wedding timeline
and we build your well-being into it.

So instead of trying to “fit in” workouts, meals, or routines on top of everything else
you have a plan that actually works with your life during this season.

Because how you feel leading up to your wedding
matters just as much as the day itself.

If this resonates with you, I’ll be at the Hyatt House Rooftop Wedding Show in Jersey City this Sunday.
Come by, say hi, and we can talk through what that could look like for you.

January always feels like hibernation season to me.

Winter isn’t when I want to sprint forward. It’s when I slow down, take stock, and gently ask myself what worked, what didn’t, and what I want to do differently this time around.

This year, that looks like decluttering our space, simplifying where we can, and taking a closer look at our financial decisions with more intention. Less noise. More clarity.

It also looks like meeting ourselves where we are. Getting to the gym right now feels like a drag, so we chose something that actually fits this season of life. We ordered a Peloton and I’m genuinely excited about it. Moving at home feels doable. Sustainable. Supportive instead of another thing to push through.

I’m not chasing a complete overhaul. I’m making small, thoughtful shifts that feel aligned with the life we’re actually living.

What’s something you’re reflecting on or changing as we move into 2026? #2026

I’m not here to curate perfection. I’m here to show up real.

These past few months have been about realignment, figuring out how I want to show up as a woman, mom, wife, daughter, sister, and someone who believes deeply in whole-person wellness.

I’ve been the plus-size bride who lost 100 pounds, the new mom who gained 40 during pregnancy, and the woman still finding her rhythm while nursing my 2½-year-old while navigating the endless opinions that come with motherhood.

I’m a midsized woman who sometimes gets the stares when I say I’m a health coach, as if wellness has a single look or size. But wellness isn’t about appearance. It’s about presence. It’s about how you live, how you love, and how you care for yourself through every season.

Motherhood has taught me that real self-care looks different in every chapter.
Some days it’s movement and home-cooked meals. Some days it’s giving myself permission to cry or scream because it can all be too much. Other days it’s rest and gratitude for the life I’m building, even when it feels messy.

I’m driven to create a life that feels aligned, one where I can nurture my purpose and still be present for Eriana as she grows.

If you’re navigating your own version of doing it all, you’re not alone.
Follow for real conversations about wellness, motherhood, and growth and reminders that it’s okay to be both ambitious and gentle with yourself. 🤍
