Blissed by Nature Offering mindful outdoor experiences to connect with your own true nature of bliss Imagine a walking meditation without having to meditate.

Like yoga, mindfully soaking up a forest’s sensory stimuli - the aroma of damp wood, the sound of crunching leaves, the feeling of plush moss, the gurgling of a stream - has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and blood pressure. Let's combine a vigorous hike and off-the-mat yoga to create 90 minutes of well-being for mind, body and soul. In 2021, we also offer 60-minute ZENwalks, a soothing saunter that decelerates stress and calms anxiety, while reigniting our senses and reconnecting to nature.

Less scrolling. More noticing. 🍂
What if, instead of reaching for your phone, you reached for a moment of awe and wonder?

The golden leaves dancing in the breeze. The crispness of the air against your skin. The sound of your footsteps on the trail. The quiet reminder that you are part of something much bigger than your to-do list.

Spending time in nature can help ease stress, lift our mood, quiet the mental chatter, and support our overall mental well-being. Sometimes, the simplest practice is to step outside, breathe a little deeper, and let your senses lead the way.

As a yoga teacher, I’m reminded that mindfulness isn’t something we have to create. It begins when we give ourselves permission to pause and pay attention.

You don’t need to go far. You don’t need to do more. You just need to be here…now.

🍁 Less scrolling. More noticing. More breathing. More being.

When was the last time you went outside without an agenda, simply to notice?

What if the happiness you’re looking for isn’t found on a screen? The sparkle of sun-filled quaking Aspen leaves fill my heart with gladness. And somehow it erases the anxiety I feel when I get sucked into the tech and AI matrix.

The Environmental Protection Agency estimated that the average American spends 93% of their days indoors. Much of it in front of screens. Meanwhile, depression and anxiety rates are up. Could this be related?

I always feel better when I am among trees and birds. The gurgling of mountain streams and the reflection of the sun on their surface makes me feel real.

The invitation in the Upanishads goes like this:
Lead me from the unreal to the real
From darkness lead me to light.

Spending still time in nature always makes me feel lighter. Join me some time for a ZENwalk! How about 10/30 4pm at Galena Creek Regional Park? Or sit with me (in your own place) on my YouTube channel.

The leaves are letting go. And maybe we can, too. Even if just for a couple of hours 🍂

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our October YOGAhike: Letting Go. There’s something powerful about slowing down, stepping outside, and allowing nature to remind us that release is part of the rhythm of life.

And we’re not done yet. 🌲

Join me for our next YOGAhike:

📅 Saturday, November 7
⏰ 8–10 AM
📍 Galena Creek

Not a traditional hike.
Not yoga on a mat.

A mindful outdoor experience where we’ll walk, breathe, notice, move, pause, and reconnect—with ourselves, each other, and the more-than-human world.

Come outside. Slow down. See what you notice.

Outdoors is a place. Presence is a practice.

What if fall is an invitation to let go?
As the leaves begin to turn and the landscape releases what it no longer needs, we’ll practice doing the same.

Join me October 3, 8–10 AM for our next YOGAhike, a mindful outdoor experience centered on Letting Go.

This isn’t a traditional hike.
And it’s not yoga on a mat in the woods.

It’s something in between—and perhaps something entirely its own.

We’ll walk slowly. Pause often. Breathe. Notice. Move. Sit. Listen. Feel the ground beneath our feet and the changing world around us.

Through mindfulness, we give the nervous system a chance to shift out of constant doing and into a state of greater presence and regulation. Nature becomes more than scenery—it becomes part of the practice.

And as the season reminds us, letting go doesn’t have to mean giving something up.

Sometimes it means making space.

🍁 What are you ready to release?
🍂 What might become possible when you do?

What if you microdosed on slowness?
A few seconds here.
A pause there.
Long enough to notice … the snail crossing the road. 🐌

These tiny moments of attention interrupt the rush, soften the nervous system, and remind us: life isn’t only happening in the big moments.

Sometimes, the practice is simply noticing what’s already here.

Slow down. Look closer. Be here.

Six lakes. One trail. A whole day to remember how to wander:

Big Bear. Little Bear. Cub. Long. Silver. Round.

A handful of kind encounters.
A few horses along the way.
A whispered rumor of a bear—though we never crossed paths.

Mostly, there was just the trail.
And the invitation to slow down enough to notice.

To breathe with the trees.
To listen to the wind.
To let the landscape remind us that we don’t have to rush toward the next thing.

Yoga is not only something we practice on a mat.
Sometimes it looks like walking slowly, noticing deeply, and allowing ourselves to be exactly where our feet are.

This weekend, pack a picnic.
Find a trail you’ve never walked.
Go slowly. Look closely.
Notice the first whispers of fall.

And let the season change you, one mindful step at a time. 🍂

Let water - cold or not - help make you feel better. Just sitting by a mountain lake and watching the sun’s glittery reflections puts my heart at ease.
What part of the natural world do you resonate with? Find that connection every day!

🇺🇸✨ Happy Interdependence Day! ✨🌿
This Fourth of July, let’s celebrate something even deeper than independence: Interdependence.

When we slow down enough to truly pay attention, we begin to notice that nothing exists in isolation. The breath we take is offered by the trees. The wildflowers depend on pollinators. The trails we walk are shaped by countless seasons, creatures, and caretakers. We, too, are woven into this intricate web of life.

Join me for a mindful YOGAhike at Galena Creek as we explore what it means to belong—to move beyond striving and reconnect with the quiet understanding that we are supported, connected, and never separate from the natural world.

Through hiking, gentle standing yoga, breathwork, and sensory mindfulness practices, we’ll pause long enough to remember our place within the whole.

🌿 Friday, July 4
🥾 8:00–10:00 AM
📍 Galena Creek Recreation Area

Come celebrate Interdependence Day with movement, wonder, and community. Part of proceeds support the educational programs of Great Basin Institute.
