ICYMI: Last week’s A Walk With The Experts webinar explored denials from three perspectives critical to revenue cycle management:

Data shows where denials happen.
Operations shows where workflows break down.
Coding and documentation show why a claim was vulnerable in the first place.

Prevention starts when those views come together.

The session closed with questions worth asking inside every practice.

Reimbursement models keep shifting. Reporting expectations keep climbing. Radiology practices don't need another vendor — they need a partner who understands the terrain.

Claire Bogusz, PBS's Regional Director of Sales, brings that understanding to the RBMA Michiana Chapter Fall Meeting, ready to talk through the priorities driving practice decisions and the solutions that support them.

If you're attending, let's connect. We'd welcome the opportunity to talk through the realities shaping your practice right now.

Radiology practices are asking harder questions of their revenue cycle partners these days, and understanding how practices actually run is key to providing the answers they need.

That's the kind of partnership PBS provides.

Steve and Michael are attending the RBMA Oregon Chapter meeting, bringing their range of experience to the conversations happening there.

If you see us, say hello — we'd welcome the chance to talk through what's on your plate.

Radiology may be projected up an average of 2% under the proposed 2027 Medicare fee schedule. Your practice may not.

Before that number reaches your 2027 budget, model the proposed rates against your actual CPT mix. The difference between the specialty headline and what happens to your practice is where the useful analysis starts.

In this article from PBS, discover steps your practice can take to help identify your 2027 Medicare impact: https://na2.hubs.ly/H08qhgr0

Every practice has denials. The ones that keep coming back are the ones worth an hour. This afternoon, Angie Wardlaw, Dallas Howard, and Laura Manser join moderator Kara Connor for an open conversation on preventing and managing denials.

Angie starts with the numbers that shape financial and operational decisions. Dallas follows the patterns behind recurring denials. Laura brings in the coding, documentation, and physician education that keep those patterns from repeating. Three experts. One connected view of your revenue cycle.

Registration is still open. Join us at 1:00 PM ET and walk away with insights your
team can put to work.

A denial is rarely a single problem. It’s usually the visible end of something that started much earlier, in a workflow, a documentation gap, or a payer rule that shifted quietly.

Tomorrow, Angie Wardlaw, Dallas Howard, and Laura Manser join moderator Kara Connor to trace those issues to their source.

Angie shows what the data reveals and which metrics matter. Dallas explains why denials happen and where revenue slips. Laura connects coding, documentation, and payer requirements to the physician education that prevents repeat issues.

The result is one hour that moves from what’s happening, to why, to how to fix it.

There’s still time to join. Come with the questions your team keeps running into.

Steve Mims and Michael Gonzales, FRBMA are representing PBS at the RBMA Oregon Chapter meeting.

Payor contracts shift. Reporting requirements shift. The systems practices lean on need to shift right along with them, and that takes more than a single point of view.

Between them, this pair brings decades of experience across practice administration, payor contracting, and revenue cycle strategy — the kind of range that comes from having sat on more than one side of the table.

Let's connect if you're attending. We're always glad to hear what's top of mind for your team.

AI came up again and again at RBMA SYNC, and the questions kept returning to cost and value.

For radiology practices, much of that value shows up after the read.

AI tools in scheduling, documentation, and workflow shape what reaches the revenue cycle. When they work well, claims go out cleaner and faster.

A few metrics worth benchmarking before and after implementation:
Clean claim rate
Denial rate, especially documentation-related denials
Charge lag
Days in A/R

A baseline turns AI performance into something measurable.

PBS's proprietary DataPath tool brings these metrics together with payer trends in real-time dashboards and scorecards. Leadership gets a clear view of what each tool delivers and where workflows still need attention.

How is your practice measuring the impact of AI so far? Not sure where to get started?
We’d like to hear what you’re seeing.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a reminder of the importance of screening. For some women, a screening mammogram is only the first part of the visit.

When the radiologist sees something that needs a closer look, additional diagnostic images may be obtained before she leaves. For the patient, that can be a moment of real uncertainty. Technologists and radiologists move quickly to get her answers, often in the same appointment.

One visit can include two distinct services. When Medicare requirements are met, both the screening and diagnostic mammogram are payable, with modifier GG reported on the diagnostic study. The diagnostic exam does not replace the screening exam simply because both happened on the same day.

In breast imaging, the claim follows the clinical sequence. That sequence reflects each step of her care.

To the breast imaging teams who help women move from uncertainty toward answers, thank you for the care you bring to every exam.

Revenue cycle shapes margin, growth, staffing, and the patient experience every day. Getting that impact recognized at the executive table is a different challenge.

When RCM is presented as activity, it stays in the background.

When it's framed as risk, opportunity, and decisions, it moves to the center of the discussion.

At Strategic Radiology's upcoming 2026 RCO Summit, Nicole Jones-Gerbino, FRBMA, PBS President, will present "Bringing Revenue Cycle Into the Decisions That Matter."

Nicole will walk through where the translation breaks down: metrics shared without context, reporting that explains performance without showing impact, and upstream issues that get attention only once they surface as denials, delays, or cash disruption.

Revenue cycle leaders and practice executives will come away with an executive lens on the work RCM teams already do. They'll learn how to connect data to margin, growth, access, and stability, and how to show clearly where revenue is being lost and what needs to change.

If you're heading to Franklin for the summit, don't miss this session from Nicole.
