“Who’s pregnant?”
A few minutes ago at McDonald’s, a lady saw our founder’s order: apple pie, ice cream, an iced mocha. “Who’s pregnant?” she asked.
She was not running an analysis. She was matching a pattern she had seen before: sweet cravings often come with pregnancy. Research backs her up. 50 to 90 percent of pregnant women in the U.S. report cravings, sweets among the most common.
That is the idea behind DSAG’s upcoming book, The DSAG Executive Methodology: pattern analysis.
Everyone on your team reads patterns every day. No training, no preconceived ideas. They follow what they have been exposed to. That is how the mind works.
Patterns are powerful, but they mislead without the full picture. This time, she guessed wrong. 😄
Notice the patterns in your day to day work. Then check them against the evidence.
