The Lifeworks Winter Choir & Band Concert is coming up! Join us as talented musicians and singers from our Center for Disability Inclusion – Apple Valley share their love of music and celebrate the joy of performing together.

Family, friends, and community members are all welcome to enjoy an evening of music, creativity, and celebration!

Recently, we had the opportunity to welcome a special group of guests to Lifeworks to honor the lives and legacy of Don and Joanne Varey, members of one of our founding families.

Through shared stories and memories, we reflected on the early days of Lifeworks and the lasting impact of the Vareys’ advocacy. In 1965, they joined six other families who believed that people with disabilities deserved opportunities to live, participate, and thrive in their communities. That belief helped lay the foundation for the Lifeworks we know today.

A special thank you to Judy Lysne, Sharon Moudry, Maria Moeller, Sharon Moeller, Bob Moeller, and Jeanne Cooley for joining us, sharing your memories, and helping preserve this important part of our history.

While the work of advancing disability inclusion continues, we are grateful for the families and advocates who helped lead the way. Their legacy reminds us how much is possible when people come together to create change.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)!

This year’s theme, “Celebrating Value and Talent,” recognizes the skills, perspectives, and contributions people with disabilities bring to workplaces and communities.

It’s also an opportunity to think about what comes next.

When workplaces are designed with inclusion in mind, more people have opportunities to contribute, build careers, and thrive. And when people with disabilities are part of shaping those workplaces, we create stronger organizations and communities for everyone.

At Lifeworks, we see what’s possible when employers move beyond awareness and take meaningful action to remove barriers and expand access.
