💩🦖 Prehistoric p**p is a real fossil, and scientists actually study it!

It's called *coprolite*, and it can reveal some fascinating things about ancient animals and their diets. I've also got a pretty hilarious personal story involving a plumber who accidentally broke one of mine. 🤣

My newest blog discusses the science, the story, and one unforgettable quote! 💜

🦇 Bats are often misunderstood, but spiritually they are beautiful symbols of transformation, intuition, and learning to trust yourself through uncertain times.

A baby bat especially can represent new beginnings, growing confidence, and discovering that you are more capable than you first thought. Maybe they are not quite as spooky as people make them out to be. 💜

💜 Ever wonder what that strange white shape inside an Orthoceras fossil actually is? It was once part of a marine animal swimming through an ancient ocean roughly 370 million years ago. And there is a lot more to its story than I ever realized.

✨ Why do some crystals shine differently than others?

Quartz can look glassy. Pyrite can look metallic. Tiger’s Eye can almost seem to move beneath the light. There’s a geological reason for those differences: luster. 💜

Today’s blog takes a quick look at what luster is and why different minerals interact with light in such different ways.

🌎 The Element of Earth

Earth represents more than grounding. In magick and metaphysical traditions, it is also associated with stability, growth, abundance, protection, patience, and building things meant to last. 💜

Slow movement is still movement.

💀 Why a skull?

Crystal skulls may look a little creepy, but their symbolism goes far beyond death. They’re traditionally associated with wisdom, transformation, ancestry, protection, and the cycle of life.

Add the traditional energy of the stone they're carved from, and the symbolism takes on another layer. 💜

💜 CRYSTAL TERM: INCLUSION

Ever notice something inside a crystal that looks like a tiny world of its own?

An inclusion is material that became trapped within a mineral as it formed. Depending on the specimen, that might be another mineral, liquid, gas, or other material.

Inclusions aren’t necessarily flaws. In fact, they can tell part of the story of how that crystal formed — and sometimes they’re exactly what makes a specimen so interesting.

So the next time you see something unusual inside a crystal, don’t automatically assume it’s an imperfection.

It may be part of the crystal’s geological story. 💜

💜 Do you cleanse your crystals? What about charging them?

These two terms get used all the time interchangeably, but they actually mean different things in modern crystal practice.

And some of the most popular methods aren't appropriate for every stone. Water can damage certain minerals, sunlight can fade others, and no... every crystal you own does not need to spend the night soaking in moon water. 😂

I put together a simple guide explaining the difference between cleansing and charging, some common methods for both, and how to choose a method without accidentally abusing your crystal collection.

💜 Planetary Energy: Mercury

Mercury is traditionally associated with communication, intellect, learning, curiosity and movement.

In astrology and magical traditions, Mercury energy is connected with clear thinking, writing, speaking, studying, problem solving, travel and the exchange of ideas and information. Mercury is traditionally connected with Wednesday, the colors yellow and orange, and the element of Air.

Its energy asks a wonderfully simple question:

What are you ready to learn, say or understand more clearly? 💜
