Hormone therapy is everywhere right now. One source says one thing, another says the opposite, and social media can make it feel like every woman should be following the same approach.
But hormone care is personal.

What makes sense for one woman may not make sense for another. Your symptoms, health history, risk factors, goals, and where you are in the menopause transition all deserve to be part of the conversation.

On October 26, we’re going beyond the hype surrounding perimenopause, menopause, HRT, and BHRT to have a practical, evidence-informed discussion about the questions women are actually asking.

What can hormone therapy help with?
What are its limitations?
What should you know about potential benefits and risks?
And how do you make a decision that makes sense for you?

Ever feel like your hormones have changed the rules, but no one has really explained what’s happening?

Hormonal health is influenced by more than hormones alone. Sleep, stress, nutrition, metabolic health, age, and different stages of life can all affect how you feel and how your cycle changes over time.

That can show up as irregular periods, changes in flow, shifts in mood or energy, disrupted sleep, or new symptoms during perimenopause.

The important part is understanding those changes in the context of your body. Your symptoms, health history, stage of life, and individual risk factors can all provide pieces of the bigger picture.

From the reproductive years through perimenopause and menopause, women’s health continues to evolve. Your care should evolve with it.

There’s a lot of conversation around hormone therapy right now, and not all of it makes the decision any clearer.

Join InHealthRVA on October 26 for a virtual conversation about perimenopause, menopause, and hormone care. We’ll move beyond the headlines and social media hype to talk about what hormone therapy may help with, where its limitations are, and how potential benefits and risks should be considered.

We’ll also discuss HRT and BHRT and why there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Your symptoms, health history, risk factors, personal goals, and stage of menopause all matter when considering what may be appropriate for you.

Our goal is to help you leave with a better understanding of your options and the questions worth asking when making decisions about your health.

Women’s health is constantly evolving, and the changes aren’t always obvious.

Your cycle, sleep, mood, energy, stress, and metabolic health can all provide valuable information about how your body is doing. As you move through different stages of life, paying attention to what changes can help you have more informed conversations about your health.

Perimenopause is a great example. While hot flashes tend to get the most attention, the transition can look very different from one woman to another. Changes in periods, sleep, mood, concentration, and energy may all be part of the picture.

This October, we’re taking a closer look at women’s health and the importance of understanding your body through every stage.
Your experience is personal. Your healthcare should recognize that.

Perimenopause and menopause aren’t the same thing, and understanding the difference can make the changes you’re experiencing feel a little less confusing.

Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause. During this time, hormone levels can fluctuate and periods may become less predictable. Some women also experience changes in sleep, mood, concentration, hot flashes, night sweats, or other symptoms.
Menopause is reached after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period, when there isn’t another medical reason for the absence of periods.

Every woman’s transition is different. If you’ve noticed changes in your cycle or how you feel, you don’t have to wait until your periods stop to start the conversation with your healthcare provider.
Understanding where you are in the transition can help inform the care and support that make sense for you.

Women’s health is about so much more than reproductive health.
Heart health, muscle and bone strength, metabolic health, sleep, stress, and emotional well-being all contribute to how women feel and function throughout their lives.

These areas also become increasingly important as we age. Maintaining strength can help protect mobility and independence. Understanding cardiovascular and metabolic risk factors can help inform preventive care. And supporting sleep, stress, and mental health matters for both how you feel today and your long-term well-being.

At InHealthRVA, we believe women deserve care that considers the whole person and continues to evolve through every stage of life.
This October, we’re expanding the conversation around what it really means to support women’s health.

Your healthspan is shaped long before you reach your later years.

The routines you build, the strength you maintain, the quality of your sleep, your metabolic and cardiovascular health, and the preventive care you prioritize all contribute to how well you function over time.

This is why we encourage our patients to think beyond the annual checkup. Your health is continuously changing, and paying attention to those changes along the way gives you more opportunities to support the future you want.

For us, the goal is not simply more years. It is more years with the energy, strength, mobility, and independence to enjoy them.

Food advice seems to change constantly. Avoid carbs. Eat more carbs. Skip breakfast. Never skip breakfast. Cut out entire food groups. Add them back in.

With so many conflicting messages, it’s easy to feel like eating well has become far more complicated than it needs to be.

Rather than following the latest trend, it can be helpful to come back to the basics of how the body uses protein, carbohydrates, fats, fiber, and micronutrients. From there, nutrition can be adapted to your individual needs, goals, and health.

You don’t need to eat perfectly or follow an extreme set of rules to support your health. You need an approach that makes sense, feels sustainable, and works for your body.

Watch the full video through the link in our bio as we unpack some of the most common food myths and make healthy eating feel a little less complicated.

Recovery is easy to overlook, especially when life feels busy and pushing through has become the norm.

But recovery is when your body gets the chance to restore, repair, and prepare for what comes next. If you are waking up tired, noticing changes in your workouts, feeling more irritable, sleeping restlessly, or experiencing afternoon energy crashes, it may be worth paying attention to how much recovery your routine actually allows.

Sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, and adequate downtime all play a role. The right balance will look different for everyone, which is why paying attention to patterns in how you feel can be so valuable.

Supporting your health is not only about what you do. Giving your body time to recover matters too.

Some of the habits that support our health don't happen in a gym or a doctor's office. They happen around the dinner table, on an evening walk, at the park, or during a weekend spent outside together.

Family Health & Fitness Day is a reminder that movement and healthy routines don't have to be complicated. A walk after dinner, cooking a meal together, getting outside, prioritizing sleep, or simply spending less time on screens can all create opportunities to support your family's well-being.

Children also learn a lot by watching the people around them. When movement, nourishing food, rest, and time together become a normal part of family life, we're helping establish habits they can carry with them as they grow.

You don't need a perfect routine. Find the things your family genuinely enjoys and make space for more of them.

Here's to building healthy lives together.
