A little pumpkin patch magic at Peninsula School! 🎃 🍂

Our students enjoyed a special fall treat with their very own indoor pumpkin patch! Everyone got to pick out a pumpkin and enjoy some delicious donut holes and apple c***r.

A special shoutout to TA Shaliyah Ellison for creating the festive banner that helped bring our pumpkin patch to life!

We love finding fun ways to celebrate the season and make sweet memories together. 🧡

It’s a phrase that has always been important to Justin’s family and one they found reflected in his experience at the Peninsula School.

Since joining Faison around age 10, Justin has been embraced for who he is while building greater independence, confidence, communication and life skills.

This year, his family watched him graduate. 🎓 This milestone represents years of growth, perseverance and people believing in what Justin can accomplish.

For the first time, Hatch loves going to school. 💙

Since coming to Faison two years ago, school has become a place where he feels safe, understood and excited to learn. With individualized support and a team that celebrates him for who he is, Hatch has made meaningful progress academically, socially and personally.

These everyday moments mean the world to his family.

Today, 10-year-old Angelina is happy, healthy and kind. She loves making friends and connecting with others.

When her journey at Faison began, she wasn’t yet talking and was navigating significant challenges with eating and other everyday skills. At the Early Education Center, Angelina made meaningful progress and built a foundation for what came next.

Now a rising fourth grader, she continues to learn, grow and bring her kindness to those around her.

A beautiful day, a great cause and an incredible community. ⛳️💙

We welcomed friends and supporters to the Sydney Johnson Memorial Breakfast & Birdies on September 21. After gathering for breakfast, guests headed out to the course for a fun day of golf—all in support of Faison and our Peninsula School students.

Congratulations Brian!

! Today we're proud to highlight W. Brian McCann, one of the outstanding individuals being recognized at the 2026 Richmond Humanitarian Awards Dinner on October 27.

Brian McCann is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Faison Center, where he has helped to grow the organization into a nationally recognized resource serving individuals with autism and their families across the lifespan. Since joining the organization in 2015, he has overseen the expansion of educational, residential, family support, adult services, and behavioral health programs, increasing access to critical resources throughout Virginia. A dedicated advocate, Brian regularly works with members of the Virginia General Assembly on legislation affecting special education, autism services, and disability rights. He serves on the Board of the Council of Autism Service Providers - CASP, including four years as Chair, helping advance best practices for autism service providers nationwide. He also serves on Virginia’s Autism Advisory Council, where he helps shape policies and initiatives that improve opportunities and outcomes for individuals with autism and their families.
