What is the Virtual Family Assistance Center?

Have you hard about the Virtual Family Assistance Center (VFAC), a service from the American Red Cross?

This service is providing emotional support & assistance in finding the resources someone needs in the wake of tragedy or during difficult times.

Our very own Kris Dumschat of the American Red Cross Virginia Region, speaks with three Red Cross volunteers (John Weaver, Linda Rainey, and Roxanna Pifer) working on the VFAC team, to learn about the program, listen to their experiences, and highlight the ongoing need for additional volunteers to join their efforts.

Whenever there is a disaster response effort, it takes a TEAM of individuals, organizations and agencies, to serve that community.

We are grateful for ALL the partnerships that have supported these communities during these difficult times, and we would especially like to thank:

• Grundy Baptist Church/ Roger L. & Team
• Buchanan General Hospital/Food Services Team

Never Forget: Red Cross Remembers 9/11, 20 Years Later

#NeverForget

Twenty years ago, the United States faced one of the worst days in its history. As our country marks 20 years since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the American Red Cross remembers the victims of that horrific day, honors the brave responders and is working to rekindle the spirit of service the country saw then to help those in need today.
