🧡🎗️ A NEW LOOK, THE SAME FIGHT! 🎗️🧡

We are so excited to announce that Fight Like Emerson has officially REBRANDED! 🧡

We have given our store a fresh new look, but the heart behind it remains exactly the same — supporting Emerson, spreading childhood cancer awareness, and fighting for a future FREE of leukemia!

When Emerson was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in April 2025, our world changed forever. Since then, our brave boy has faced more than any child ever should. Through the hospital stays, treatments, setbacks, and countless difficult days, he has continued to show us what true strength looks like.

And now, after everything he has overcome, we are gearing up for the FINAL LEG of this race to BEAT LEUKEMIA! 🏁🧡

Emerson is in maintenance treatment, and while we still have a road ahead of us, we can finally see that finish line getting closer. We are holding on to hope, celebrating every milestone, and fighting just as hard as we did on day one!

🎗️ THAT’S WHERE YOU COME IN! 🎗️

As we enter this next chapter, we are looking for NEW SUPPORTERS to join Team Emerson!

Whether you’ve been cheering for our boy since the beginning or you’re just now learning his story, we would LOVE for you to be part of his journey.

🧡 Donate to Emerson’s GoFundMe to help support our family through the remainder of his treatment!

🧡 Grab some new Fight Like Emerson gear!

🧡 Wear your orange proudly and help spread leukemia awareness!

🧡 Share our fundraiser and store with your friends and family!

🧡 Help us get Emerson’s story and his fight in front of as many people as possible!

Every donation, every shirt worn, every post shared, and every new supporter reminds Emerson and our family that WE ARE NOT FIGHTING ALONE.

To everyone who has supported our boy throughout this journey, THANK YOU. Your love, prayers, encouragement, and generosity have carried us through some of our darkest days.

The fight isn’t over yet, but we’re closer than we’ve ever been. And we want YOU on our team as we race toward that finish line! 🧡🏁

This is the side of childhood cancer that no one really sees.

The steroids.

They make Emerson so angry. So frustrated. So uncomfortable in his own emotions. He can go from okay to completely overwhelmed in seconds, and sometimes there is absolutely nothing I can do to make him happy.

And as his mom, that is one of the hardest parts.

I know it’s the medicine. I know this isn’t him. But knowing that doesn’t make it any easier to watch my sweet boy struggle with feelings that are just too big for him to control.

People see the pictures of him smiling he faked a smile for this photo. They see him going to school again, getting gifts, going to events, playing Fortnite, and being the funny, wild Emerson we all know and love.

They don’t see these moments. Look at his eyes. They say it all.

They don’t see the anger, the tears, the screaming, the frustration, or me trying everything I can think of to comfort him while feeling completely helpless because nothing works.

Cancer treatment isn’t just chemo, procedures, hospital stays, and blood counts. Sometimes it’s watching medication temporarily change your child and reminding yourself over and over, “This is the steroids. This is not my baby.”

Tonight is hard.

He’s angry. He’s frustrated. I can’t make him happy, and all I want is to take these feelings away from him.

This is the side no one sees. 💛

✨ 12–2 PM Hours of Giving ✨

Thanks to the generosity of the Grossnickle Family, every donation during these two hours will be matched up to $2,500 and will go directly to the Lily Fund, which supports FGP families after the loss of a child to cancer.

Our support for families does not end when their child dies. The grief of losing a child is unimaginable, and families deserve to know they are not alone during this incredibly difficult time. Through the Lily Fund, FGP provides support during hospice and helps families with funeral and celebration of life expenses, planning and photographs for services, along with other support based on each family’s needs.

💛 Your gift from 12–2 PM doubles in impact and helps us continue showing up for families during some of their hardest days.

Gas in the Fredericksburg area is averaging $4.27 a gallon today. One year ago, it was $2.94. That’s a 45% increase!

Now imagine that driving far isn’t optional.

FGP families cannot receive their child’s cancer treatment here in Fredericksburg. They travel to hospitals including VCU in Richmond, Children’s National and Walter Reed in the DC area, Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, and UVA in Charlottesville.

That can mean driving I-95 to Richmond or DC again and again for treatment, appointments, scans, procedures and hospital stays. Add in tolls, parking and trips that happen unexpectedly when a child spikes a fever or needs to be admitted, and simply getting a child the care they need becomes another significant expense.

That’s why FGP provides gas gift cards. We can’t make the miles shorter or the traffic disappear, but we can help ease the cost of all that driving and give parents one less expense to worry about.

Donate now at fgpinfo.org/give and your donation will be matched by Simply Home and will help provide gas gift cards to FGP families. 💛

💛 Maintenance Cycle 3! 💛

Today was a BIG day for Emerson. His LP went well, chemo went well, and we got some pretty amazing news — he only has ONE lumbar puncture left! 🥹 In 3 months, he’ll have his final LP. After everything this kid has been through, being able to say “his last one” feels huge.

We are officially heading into Maintenance Cycle 3! 🎗️

His counts are doing what they’re supposed to do. His ANC was 1,600 today, so we’re increasing his Mercaptopurine (6MP) back to 100% dosing. His Methotrexate will stay at 100% as well. His bloodwork definitely shows that the chemo is doing its job and suppressing his counts.

We also found out his IgG is pretty low at 346, with normal starting at 605, so that’s something his team will continue to keep an eye on.

It feels almost surreal looking back at how rough the beginning of maintenance was. Cycle 2 had to be delayed after his long hospitalization and his counts taking such a hard hit. We had to restart his oral chemo at only 50% and slowly work our way back up.

And now here we are. Cycle 3. Back to full-dose chemo. One LP left. 💛

We still have another 9–10 months of treatment ahead of us, so we aren’t at the finish line yet — but we can finally see it getting closer. After everything Emerson has been through, every “last,” every completed cycle, and every step forward feels HUGE.

Today was a good day. Here’s to Maintenance 3 and another step closer to DONE. 🎗️💛
