A Good Samaritan brought us a puppy that had been hit by a car😞. If you or someone you know is missing a puppy she was found by the 789 Casino on the highway. We will hold onto her remains for a bit.

Description: 4-6 month old female, tan body, darker brown muzzle, looks like a shepherd mix. Found on the highway by the casino. Light colored rope as a collar/leash. No microchip.

🦴 A word of caution about bones as treats! 🦴

Bones are often given to pets in hopes of keeping their teeth clean, but unfortunately, they can sometimes do more harm than good!

This patient was given bones for dental health, but instead, suffered a fractured tooth. The fracture allowed bacteria to enter the pulp cavity, leading to an infection and a tooth-root abscess. As you can see near the gumline, the abscess created a draining tract.

⚠️ A broken tooth can be painful and lead to significant infection, even when your pet continues to eat and act normally.

Looking for safer, evidence-based options to support your pet’s dental health? 🐾 Visit the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC) for a list of accepted dental foods, treats, and products:

Sorry in advance for the video-blaming it on my videographer 😂(the angles, ugh…)! Just wanted to make a quick informative video on Intramuscular (IM) injections for horses- in particular vaccinations. Please always consult with your veterinarian about which medications are safe for IM injections, it may be on the label- but may not be a good idea for certain medications!!
