Today, our team is wearing pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in support of everyone whose life has been touched by breast cancer.

We wear pink for the patients, survivors, families, caregivers and loved ones who know the weight of a diagnosis. We also wear it as a reminder of the importance of early detection, compassionate care and standing beside one another through every stage of the journey.

At Good Sam, showing up for people during difficult moments is at the heart of who we are. Today, that means showing up in pink.

On National Boss’s Day, we’re grateful for CEO Aaron Housh and the leadership he brings to Good Sam.

Leadership is more than making decisions. It sets the tone for how an organization cares for its people, serves its community and stays grounded in its mission. Aaron’s commitment to patients, families and the team behind their care helps keep that mission at the center of our work.

Thank you, Aaron, for leading Good Sam forward with purpose.

Last night, we gathered for Celebrating the Samaritan Spirit, an evening dedicated to the people whose generosity helps carry Good Sam’s mission forward.

Our donors make a difference in ways that are both visible and deeply personal. Their support helps ensure patients and families across our community can receive compassionate care, comfort and guidance when they need it most.

We are grateful for the opportunity to spend the evening together, share stories and celebrate the spirit of generosity that has sustained Good Sam for more than three decades.

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in this mission and invest in the people and families we are privileged to serve.

Few families want to talk about a medical crisis before one happens. But when wishes are shared early, the people we love are not left guessing during an already difficult moment.

Advance care planning is about making sure your voice stays part of the conversation. It can help families understand what matters most, who should speak on your behalf and what kind of care you would or would not want if you could not speak for yourself.

Today, we join hospice and palliative care organizations around the world in recognizing World Hospice and Palliative Care Day and this year’s theme: Pain Management: An Essential Part of Palliative Care.

For someone living with serious illness, pain is not always just physical. It can be emotional, social and spiritual, affecting not only the patient but the people who love and care for them.

That is why hospice and palliative care look at the whole person.

At Good Sam, our teams work alongside patients and families to ease symptoms, listen to what matters most, offer guidance through difficult decisions and bring comfort and dignity into some of life’s hardest moments. Whether care begins at home, in a facility or through our palliative care program, our mission is rooted in helping people live as fully and comfortably as possible.

Today, we are especially grateful for the clinicians, caregivers, volunteers and advocates who make this work possible, and for every patient and family who trusts us to walk beside them.

Everyone facing serious illness deserves compassionate care that sees the person, not just the diagnosis.

October is National Physical Therapy Month, and we’re celebrating the therapists who help patients turn recovery into real-life progress.

After an illness, surgery or fall, things that once felt automatic — getting out of bed, walking to the kitchen or climbing a few steps — can suddenly feel uncertain. Good Sam’s Home Health physical therapists meet patients where those moments actually happen, helping rebuild strength, balance and confidence so they can move through home with greater safety and independence.

Today, on National Physician Assistant Day, we’re proud to celebrate Laura H. and the thoughtful care she brings to Good Sam.

For patients and families navigating serious illness, having someone who listens closely, explains what comes next and brings both clinical knowledge and compassion to the conversation can make a difficult day feel a little less overwhelming.

Thank you, Laura, for helping our patients and families feel heard, informed and supported.

During Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week, we’re grateful for Joshua, Saundra, Rob, and Rose and the care they bring to Good Sam each day.

At the Hospice House, a meal can be more than nourishment. It can be something familiar on an unfamiliar day, a favorite food that brings a smile, or simply one less thing a family has to worry about. Their attention and kindness help create comfort in ways that are easy to feel.

Thank you, Joshua, Saundra, Rob, and Rose, for helping care for our patients and families around the table and beyond it.

A palliative care visit is a chance to talk about more than symptoms.

It can help patients and families name what is hardest right now, understand options, talk through goals and prepare for decisions before a crisis. Bringing questions can help make the visit more useful and less overwhelming.
