Dutton Farm Inc. At Dutton Farm, we firmly believe that every person has the right to equal opportunities, meaningful work, and a right to make their own decisions.

Dutton Farm was envisioned by Michele Smither in 2009 from her 27 years of experience in caring for the physically, mentally and emotionally impaired. Having a daughter of her own with Downs Syndrome, she has firsthand experience on being the parent of a child with a disability. Over the years, Michele has received a growing recognition for her outstanding services and consistent support to families with disabled children. She has successfully implemented 3 church programs, provided loving care to over 40 respite clients and over 20 foster children. Today, she plans to partner her experience and passion to step into her calling of providing a safe and loving environment that helps better prepare individuals with physical, mental and emotional impairments for life, employment and happiness.

🐴❤️Learning, Laughing & Loving Life at Red Tail Acres ❤️🐴

Our Macomb participants had an absolutely wonderful day at Red Tail Acres Equestrian Center learning all about the horses and especially getting to know sweet Dolly🩷

They learned about what horses eat, how much water they need and what it takes to care for these amazing animals. Our participants even had the opportunity to brush and groom Dolly, creating connections along the way.

From learning new things to spending time with the horses, our participants loved every minute of that visit! These experiences are what Dutton Farm is all about, by creating opportunities to explore, learn, connect with the community and especially make memories.

Jeffrey is thriving in his supported employment position with Chartwells at Oakland University, where he brings a positive attitude and a smile to work every day!

He takes pride in keeping the kitchen organized by returning utensils, pots, and pans to their proper places after they come through the heavy-duty dish conveyor. He also helps restock the dining room with plates, cups, and silverware, making sure students have a clean, organized, and welcoming place to enjoy their meals.

Jeffrey loves his job and enjoys working alongside his Job Coach, Julie, and together they make a terrific team.

The staff and students appreciate seeing Jeffrey and enjoy working with him. Currently working two days a week, he's looking forward to the opportunity to add two more days to his schedule and continue making a positive impact at Oakland University!

Monday, we welcomed our amazing friends from Genisys Credit Union as they volunteered at BOTH of our Dutton Farm locations for their annual Day of Caring.

And the generosity doesn't stop there! A HUGE thank you to both groups for their incredible donations and for giving their time, talents and hearts to support our mission. Your kindness makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the adults with disabilities we serve.

We are excited to share that our Art Without Limits program is starting up again with a fresh start, a new home and an exciting new leader!

Please join us in welcoming McKenna, our new Art Manager, who will be leading our amazing artists and team as they begin this exciting new chapter.

Today, our Art Without Limits team will be moving to their new location at the Webster Community Center! We can't wait to see the creativity, inspiration and incredible artwork that will come from this new space.

What an incredible morning of Connection, Collaboration and Doing Good🤝

Last week, Dutton Farm had the privilege of hosting The Economic Power of Doing Good event at the beautiful Emerald Theatre in downtown Mt. Clemens.

We brought together an incredible group of business and nonprofit leaders for an inspiring panel discussion focused on one important message. When businesses and nonprofits work together, everyone benefits!

Our dynamic panelists shared their insights on the importance of including nonprofits in the business sector, building meaninful partnerships and creating opportunities that make a lasting impact for the communities we all call home.

A huge thank you to our wonderful panelists: Tiffany A. Albert, Brian Calley, Kirsten Elliott, Adrian Lewis and to our CEO and moderator Jenny Brown, for sharing your expertise, experiences and passion for creating stronger communities.

Also, a special thank you to Citizens State Bank and Comcast for sponsoring this important conversation and investing in the power of partnerships.

This event was a great reminder that doing good isn't just good for the community but good for everyone involved. When we come together to share resources, open doors and support one another, we create a stronger Southeast Michigan for all!
