The Think College National Coordinating Center Accreditation Workgroup, led by Martha Mock, professor and director of the Center for Disability and Education (CDE) at the Warner School, has released its 2026 report to Congress: 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙋𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮.

The report highlights the 2023 launch of the Inclusive Higher Education Accreditation—an independent nonprofit accrediting agency led by Mock and Mary Judge-Diegert, assistant professor and associate director of CDE—as a significant milestone in advancing quality and accountability in the field.

Pages 7-8 feature Mock’s letter to U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, outlining progress in expanding and accrediting postsecondary programs for students with intellectual disability. The letter highlights improved employment and community outcomes, the growth of the field to more than 360 programs serving over 8,000 students, and a new $1 million federal grant that supports national accreditation efforts and establishes a pathway toward broader recognition of these programs.
