Meta's new terms of service require me, as a FB business account user, to allow Meta full ownership of anything I've ever posted on my page. I don't want Meta AI using my data to train their models. I don't want Meta AI to be able to scrape my personal website and anything associated with it to train their AI. They also want me to subscribe in order to post more than 2 external links on my page a month. More pages they are then allowed to troll with their bots. 🙄

I, like many other FB Business users, am closing my page on October 30th. I'm just tired of playing the game with Meta's algorithm. This my be my first step towards leaving FB completely, but that's a deal for another day.

So, where can you find me once this page is gone?

1. lydiadoesyoga (dot) com - my website is regularly updated with my classes, workshops, retreats, videos and more! Subscribe to my email list for important updates 📧

2. Instagram: I'm over there as

3. My personal FB Lydia Martin - so far, the new ToS don't seem to apply to personal accounts, so I'm hanging around over there for now. You're welcome to follow (my page is public) or send me a friend request!

4. Email me! [email protected] is always open for questions, comments or hellos 👋😁

I'll update and repost this often until the end of the month. As much as I have a love/hate relationship with social media, it really has been helpful with staying connected to everyone through the ups and downs of life. It sucks that it's come to this, but maybe if enough people leave the FB business platform, something could change. 🤷🏻‍♀️

XOXO Lydia

Life is A LOT™️ right now, and *gestures around widely* one cannot be expected to silence the mind with any kind of quickness.

Can't relax when you want to?
Normal.

Mind won't shut up, like ever?
Normal.

Lose track of a thought you actually wanted to ponder?
Normal.

Think meditation is impossible?
Totally normal.

Meditation is a path TOWARDS quieting the mind. We practice because it's not an easy thing to do. Handstands require years of training. Strengthening the muscles of your mind is much less visible, but it takes just as much (or more) work.

Give yourself 60 seconds. Let your mind wander, but don't focus on anything. Slow down your exhales. See how you feel, maybe try again.

Baby steps 🙏

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day ✌️🩵

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day ✌️🩵

Indigenous Peoples Day!

Sometimes referred to as First Peoples Day or Native American Day, this day is to recognize the history of Indigenous American people and to celebrate Native American culture.

Of special note in 2026 is the fact that “at least 355 Native American and Indigenous candidates ran or are running in local, state and federal primary elections this year.” ( 10/3/26)

And that good news is also cause for celebration!
Happy Indigenous Peoples Day!

Happy World Mental Health Day! Treat your nervous system to a few calming, slow breaths ✌️🩵

"Talk therapy can be helpful in finding problem-solving strategies and understanding your own strengths and what's happening to you, but there are times when you just need to kind of get moving and work through the body,"
