In Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), the blister is only what we see on the surface.
EB is a group of rare genetic conditions that affect proteins involved in maintaining the skin’s structural integrity. Depending on the type of EB, separation can occur at different levels within the skin—allowing everyday friction or minor trauma to cause blisters and wounds.
Understanding what happens beneath the surface helps explain why protecting fragile skin from friction is such an important part of care.
HARTMANN is proud to work with debra of America to support EB awareness and education.
