The year 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of a formal school of nursing at the University of Wyoming (UW). Before 1951, the university had a role in nursing by providing prerequisite science courses to diploma students at Ivinson Memorial Hospital which had opened in Laramie in 1917 at the corner of 10th and Thornburgh (now Ivinson Ave).
