Every person has cancer cells. Are you feeding yours?!! Hereโ€™s real breast cancer awareness for those pink ribbons:

Researchers found that women who ate the most high-glycemic-load foods were nearly THREE times more likely to develop colon cancer.

A study of diets with equal calories from sugars and starches, for example, found those on the high-sugar diet developed more cases of breast cancer.

An epidemiological study in 21 modern countries that keep track of morbidity and mortality (Europe, North America, Japan and others) revealed that sugar intake is a STRONG risk factor that contributes to higher breast cancer rates, particularly in older women.

Furthermore, studies have directly linked fructose consumption (in the form of high-fructose corn syrup) with pancreatic cancer, one of the deadliest forms of cancer.

Still not convinced?

Consider the million-dollar positive emission tomography device, or PET scan, regarded as one of the ultimate cancer-detection tools. PET scans use radioactively labeled glucose to detect sugar-hungry tumor cells.

Before a PET scan, they suddenly get very serious about sugar. Youโ€™re told to stay away from sweets, bread, pasta, fruit and juice. Then you fast for several hours. Those instructions exist because theyโ€™re about to inject you with a radioactive form of glucose so they can watch where it goes.

Cancer cells often take up glucose much faster than normal cells. Glucose is fuel, and cancer cells can use a lot of it. When they take up more of the radioactive glucose, those areas can show more activity on the scan. Thatโ€™s one of the ways doctors can see where cancer may be active.

Once the scan is over, I wonder how often anyone explains that sugar and glucose metabolism might still be worth paying attention to. Youโ€™re told you can go back to eating normally. Bread is fine. Pasta is fine. Dessert is fine. Apparently cancer cells are very interested in glucose while weโ€™re taking their picture, then the subject gets a lot less interesting once the camera is turned off.

The pink ribbon on j***y sugary foods for breast cancer awareness is a sick irony.

If we really want to do something to help reduce cancer rates, then we need to raise awareness about what we are eating that FEEDS cancer.

Good info about fiber! Fiber is essential for a healthy diet, helping to support digestion, lower cholesterol and regulating blood sugar.

Only about 5% of Americans get enough fiber. Here's how to join them. ๐Ÿซ˜

Fiber is found only in plant foods, and eating enough of it is linked to a lower risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers, and digestive conditions. Much of that benefit comes from how fiber feeds the good bacteria in your gut.

General guidelines recommend about 25 grams a day for adult women and 38 grams for men, but many people average only about 14. If you're low right now, add fiber gradually and drink plenty of water to avoid bloating.

Try adding just 1โ€“2 new sources to your day to start. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฅ‘
