Women of Impact is this Wednesday, and I would love to see you there.

I will be speaking about how we can be more present when the world feels chaotic. Presence is not about ignoring what is happening around us. It is about creating a small pause so we can notice what we need and choose our next response.

This is the first Women of Impact In Good Company event, and it is free. Space may fill quickly, so please register now if you plan to join us.

In 2012, a bicycle accident left me with a traumatic brain injury. For two years, I worked with medical professionals as I healed and tried to find my way forward.

Later, working with a health coach helped me become more curious about food, stress, and my daily habits. That experience changed the direction of my life and eventually inspired me to become a health coach.

I created Supercharge Your Brain because I know how personal health challenges can feel.

This guide is not about a perfect diet or a quick fix. It is a collection of realistic foods, habits, and recipes you can use as a starting point.

Supporting brain health is bigger than finding one perfect food. A nourishing pattern matters more than any single ingredient.

The good news is that you may already have several helpful staples in your kitchen. Berries, leafy greens, walnuts, beans, chickpeas, and extra-virgin olive oil can fit into simple meals you already enjoy.

Choose one food from the carousel and think of the easiest place to use it this week.

My free Supercharge Your Brain guide includes 15 foods, 10 daily habits, and easy recipes.

The world can feel loud, fast, and demanding. Presence gives us a place to come back to.

I will be speaking about How to Be Present in a Chaotic World at the Women of Impact In Good Company event on October 21.

We will explore simple ways to pause, reconnect with ourselves, and choose how we want to respond when life feels busy.

I would love to share this evening with you.

Here is a flexible meal formula for nights when you need dinner to be simple:

• Choose a protein, such as eggs, beans, lentils, chicken, fish, tofu, or yogurt.
• Add a vegetable or fruit.
• Include a satisfying carbohydrate, such as potatoes, rice, pasta, oats, bread, or another grain.
• Add flavor with herbs, spices, olive oil, lemon, dressing, or sauce.

This is a starting point, not a rule. Use the foods you enjoy and the foods that fit your budget.

Healthy eating on a budget is not about buying every trendy ingredient or cooking everything from scratch.

It starts with using what you have, choosing flexible foods, and making a simple plan that fits your household.

On Tuesday, October 13, I am teaching Healthy Eating on a Budget at Valley Natural Foods in Burnsville. We will talk about practical ways to stretch your food dollars while still creating satisfying, nourishing meals.

Which budget-friendly staple do you use the most?

Behavior change often begins with a step that feels almost too simple.

Drink a glass of water. Put your walking shoes by the door. Add one vegetable to dinner. Pause before saying yes to one more thing.

The smaller the step, the easier it is to practice. Repetition builds trust with yourself.

You do not need to see the whole path today. What is one step you can take next?

A new month can be an invitation, not a demand.

You do not need a complete wellness overhaul for October. Choose one small action that would help you feel more supported in your real life.

Maybe it is a short walk after lunch. Maybe it is adding something nourishing to breakfast. Maybe it is taking three slow breaths before you answer the next request for your time.

The goal is not to do it perfectly. The goal is to choose something small enough that you can return to it.

What is one supportive step you would like to practice this month?

I have learned that when I start moving my body, my energy usually begins to change.

Energy creates energy.

That does not mean I need a long or intense workout. Sometimes I put on “Don't Stop Believin',” my favorite song, and dance in my living room for three minutes. That tiny burst of movement can shift my mood, help me breathe more deeply, and give me a fresh perspective.

If you are feeling stuck or discouraged today, choose one song and move in any way that feels good. Dance, stretch, sway, or walk around the room.

What song would be on your three-minute energy playlist?
