🏡 Using ABA at Home: Positive Reinforcement! 💙

Did you know that we experience positive reinforcement in our everyday lives, often without even realizing it?

Think about it! When you try a new food and love it, you’re more likely to eat it again. When you receive recognition for something you worked hard on, you’re more motivated to keep going! The same principle can help children learn and build new skills. 🌟

The best part? Positive reinforcement doesn’t have to be complicated! You can easily incorporate it into your family’s everyday routines, from getting dressed and cleaning up toys to navigating those more challenging moments.

❤️ Sometimes, the most powerful reinforcer is YOU! A hug, high-five, tickles, enthusiastic praise, or a little extra one-on-one attention can be incredibly motivating. It’s not always about toys, treats, or stickers!

✨ A few things to remember:

* Be specific! Instead of just saying “Good job,” try “I love how you asked for help!”
* Reinforce the behavior as soon as it happens.
* Choose rewards your child genuinely enjoys. Every child is different!
* Celebrate small steps. Progress doesn’t have to be perfect to be worth recognizing.
* Keep special rewards meaningful by using them intentionally when teaching new skills.

You don’t need to create extra activities or change your entire routine to practice ABA at home. Sometimes, it’s simply about noticing the little moments and making them count.

⚾️Batter Up at Summit Autism Center!⚾️

Today, our kiddos stepped up to the plate for some baseball fun during our social skills activities!

✨Through play, our kiddos had opportunities to practice important skills like turn-taking, waiting, following directions, coordination, and cheering on their friends!

✨Our little baseball stars had a BLAST, and we loved seeing their excitement, smiles, and enthusiasm!

✨At Summit, we believe learning should be meaningful, engaging, and FUN!

✨ A Day of Learning, Teamwork & Creativity at Summit! 🎨

Today, our Summit Autism Center team came together for our annual CPR certification training, strengthening the skills and preparedness needed to keep our clients and one another safe! ❤️

After a day of learning, we traded CPR practice for paintbrushes and enjoyed some well-deserved team bonding with a Sip & Paint! 🎨🍷

At Summit, we believe that investing in our team is just as important as investing in the families we serve. Taking time to learn, connect, and have fun together helps us build a stronger, more supportive workplace.

✨ Learning, Connecting, and Growing at GABA 2026! ✨

Summit Autism Center was excited to attend the 2026 Georgia Association for Behavior Analysis (GABA) Annual Conference in Atlanta!

We had the opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, explore new resources, and gain valuable insights into the evolving field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

🤝 We also had the pleasure of sharing a booth with OnlyABA, a platform dedicated to connecting ABA professionals with career opportunities. We enjoyed the opportunity to network, share ideas, and build meaningful connections within the ABA community!

At Summit, we believe that continued education, collaboration, and professional growth help us provide the best possible support to the children and families we serve. 💗
