Some thoughts on classic American Traditional flash designs.
These images have stood the test of time. A good tattoo will still look good decades down the road. Images that have been tattooed thousands of times for hundreds of years have more evidence of how they heal and hold up over time.

20 feet and 20 years. A tattoo should look good from 20 feet away, and it should look good for 20 years. This one simple rule can make or break certain tattoos. Tattooers are notorious for wanting to go bigger with the designs, and I’m definitely guilty of it too. But there’s a reason behind this. Tattoos need room to settle in, and keeping this in mind can really help with longevity and legibility.

I’m adding more large-scale American Traditional tattoos to my portfolio and am looking for four canvases for these projects. These pieces will be arm sleeves, leg sleeves, torsos, or backs.

In exchange for letting me guide you on placement and design, I’ll discount it deeply from my usual charge, depending on the specific tattoo and placement we land on. These tattoos can be full color or black and gray, and will most likely require more than one appointment.

Oops. It takes over if you let it. Tattooing can be all consuming. It’s an industry I’m so proud and humbled to be a part of. It’s never lost on me the trust and confidence it takes to let someone permanently mark your skin. I study it daily, I can never stop hunting for inspiration, I’m constantly stacking reference images, I’ve lost count of the books I’ve bought and articles read by about the greats of tattooing. It’s something that has been around long before me and will continue to fascinate humans for generations to come. I love tattooing and I’m so grateful for all my clients; past, present, and future.
