🎄 Help Make Christmas Special for Kids at Duke Children’s Hospital ❤️

Last year, the Kilworth and Wuchich families had the privilege of delivering nearly 300 toys to children and families spending Christmas at Duke Children’s Hospital.

Sadly, Kim is not with us this year, but her daughter Alyssa and Renee Wuchich are carrying on this special tradition in her honor. ❤️

This year, our focus is on items that bring comfort and a little extra joy to children and families during their hospital stay, especially cozy blankets and Squishmallows.

If you’d like to help, They created an Amazon list with some ideas. Anything purchased directly from the list will be shipped to Renee Wuchich. If you’d prefer to purchase something outside of the list and need her shipping address, please reach out to us directly.

Every donation, big or small, can help make an incredibly difficult time a little brighter for a child and their family.

Thank you for helping us continue this meaningful tradition and for making Christmas a little more special at Duke Children’s Hospital.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of another beloved child in our AHC family, at just 17 years old.
His mom shared these beautiful words:
“To my sweet baby boy,
Mommy, Daddy, and Sissy are going to miss you so much. You fought so hard in your 17 years of life. Your smile could light up any room, and your eyes could tell a story.
We love you, sweet boy, and will miss you forever. I hope you’re running, dancing, and laughing in heaven—and watching endless episodes of SpongeBob.
You can rest now.”
Our hearts are with his family and all those who loved him. We will remember his beautiful smile, his strength, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Another International ATP1A3 Symposium has concluded and we are feeling rejuvenated and refocused on what lies ahead.

Meaningful research updates, new ideas, and plenty of time to connect with one another. Events like these, bringing some of the most talented individuals from around the world, truly bring us closer and closer to our ultimate goals of bettering the future for families afflicted with AHC and ATP1A3 disorders.

We thank AFHA for having us for such a wonderful event and look forward to seeing everyone next year!

💙 In Loving Memory of TJ Walker

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of TJ Walker, who passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 34.

TJ was a beloved son, grandson, nephew and friend, whose special soul touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was accomplished in Martial Arts with a black belt and loved his loyal dog Marshal with all his heart.

Our hearts are with the Walker family and all who loved TJ during this unimaginable loss. On behalf of the entire AHC community, we extend our deepest condolences and hope they find comfort in the love that surrounds them and in the precious memories they will carry forever.

Rest peacefully, dear TJ. You will always be remembered. 💙
