Today is World Marrow Donor Day ❤️

Today, we’re celebrating the incredible people who have joined a stem cell registry and answered the call to help someone in need.

For patients with blood cancers and other serious blood disorders, a stem cell or bone marrow transplant can be a vital part of their treatment. Finding a matching donor can be incredibly difficult, and for many patients, their best chance of finding a match may be through an unrelated donor on a registry.

Behind every donation is someone who took a moment to join a registry, kept their details up to date, answered the call and ultimately chose to help another person.

To every donor, thank you. Your decision has made an extraordinary difference to someone, somewhere in the world 🫶

The FDA just approved a new option for patients with blood cancer undergoing stem cell transplants. 🩸

Tregzi (Orca-T) is the first cell therapy using specialized donor immune cells — including regulatory T cells, or Tregs — designed to lower the risk of chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), one of the most serious complications that can follow a transplant.

In the PRECISION-T trial, 78% of patients who received Tregzi were alive without moderate or severe chronic GVHD at one year, compared with 38.4% of patients who received a standard stem cell transplant.
