Therapy For Positive Aging presented at the Parkinsons Support Group today at Monmouth YMCA. Wow there were around 24 people there. It makes me happy to see so many showing up to support each other and looking for new ways to improve mental and physical health!

Great day learning how to care for ourselves so we can better care for others!

Today we welcomed Amanda Powell from Therapy for Positive Aging to spend time with our team and talk about something that matters so much- caregiver burnout and compassion fatigue. We believe taking care of our caregivers is just as important as taking care of our residents. Because happy, supported caregivers help create happy, healthy residents. We’re also lucky to have Amanda visit with our residents right here at the branch, making it easier to access therapy and support when it’s needed. At Bickford, we believe caring for others starts with caring for the people who care :)

Therapy For Positive Aging is at the health fair at Spoon River College today then heading to Bickford Cottage to present to their employees on caregiver stress and coping with loss!

Therapy For Positive Aging is at the Veterans Health Fair that Illinois State Representative Dan Swanson puts on in Galesburg each year. It's been a great turn out and my daughter Shay Powell (who is my new office/billing assistant) got to get a taste of marketing the business today too!
