What can we say about grandparents that hasn’t already been said?

They’re part of the reason we are who we are. They’re the ones who sneak us a little sugar before dinner, let us run a little wilder, tell the best stories, and somehow know exactly when we need an extra hug.

They love us like parents, but spoil us like there’s no tomorrow. ❤️

But grandparents also carry a kind of love we don’t always talk about.

When a child is facing a medical journey, they aren’t only watching their grandbaby go through something no child should have to face. They’re also watching their own child become a caregiver, an advocate, a researcher, a fighter, and wishing they could somehow make it easier for both of them.

So today, we celebrate the grandparents who stay up late with us.

The ones who say, “We’ll figure this out.”

The ones who help keep everyone going when the days feel heavy.

The ones who learn right alongside us, share wisdom from their own experiences, ask questions, make phone calls, show up to appointments, care for siblings, bring meals, offer a shoulder to cry on, and become advocates for their grandbabies in ways they may never have imagined.

To the grandparents who share the joy, the worry, the hope, and the fight.

Happy National Nicu Grandparents Day. đź’›

Your love reaches farther than you know.

This is where it all began. đź’ś

Meet Russell.

Years ago, one family's journey changed the direction of my life, and eventually became something much bigger than I ever imagined.

From one funding guide to resources for families navigating disability, the NICU, childhood cancer and more…

This journey became The Funding Project.

We stopped posting. But we never stopped working. đź’ś

Some of you may remember this.

Years ago, you downloaded the Disability Funding Guide — one of the resources that helped start this journey.

A lot has happened since then.

We've been writing. Building. Creating new resources. And turning an idea that started years ago into something much bigger.

The Funding Project.

Over the next few weeks, we're going to show you what we've been working on and where we're going next.

If you've been here since the beginning, welcome back.

And if you're new here, we're so glad you found us.

This is just the beginning. đź’ś

Some parents spend sleepless nights at their child's bedside.

Others spend them worrying about bills, paperwork, and how they're going to make it through another month.

Most are doing both.

The Funding Project exists to help families navigate the challenges that come with a medical crisis, so they can focus on what matters most.

The hospital handles the medical care, but who handles the rest? Your support fills that gap.

Healing extends far beyond clinical walls. While medical teams expertly manage treatment, patients and their families are often left to navigate the overwhelming hidden costs of recovery, such as travel, lodging, daily living expenses, and long-term care.

At The Funding Project, we bridge this critical divide. We provide structured, reliable financial assistance to alleviate the non-medical burdens of illness, empowering patients to focus entirely on what matters most: their recovery.

At The Funding Project, we understand how overwhelming medical bills, insurance challenges, travel costs, and lost income can be during an already difficult time.

Our mission is to help families navigate these challenges by providing guidance, resources, advocacy, and support when they need it most.

Every donation helps a family stay focused on their child instead of financial stress. If you believe no parent should face a medical crisis alone, please consider making a donation today.

The FUNDING PROJECT – Restoring dignity, one family at a time.

We're Back, And We Have So Much To Share

Over the past several months, we've been working behind the scenes, building resources, expanding programs, helping families, and planning for the future.

Now, we're excited to reconnect with all of you.

For those who are new here, welcome to The Funding Project.

We are dedicated to helping families navigating NICU stays, medical challenges, disabilities, autism, childhood cancer, and other complex healthcare journeys find guidance, resources, education, and support when they need it most.

In the coming weeks and months, you'll see:

Family stories that inspire hope
NICU resources and education
Financial advocacy insights
Community initiatives and partnerships
Program updates
Ways you can help families in need
Real stories of resilience, courage, and impact

Whether you're a parent, caregiver, healthcare professional, donor, advocate, or supporter, we're grateful you're here.

This mission has always been about helping families feel less alone during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

We're back, we're growing, and we're more committed than ever to making a difference.

Welcome back to The Funding Project.
