Construction is still underway on Main Street, but progress continues to be made!

Crews have been busy finishing up sidewalks and replacing previously removed concrete. Work has now moved toward the Fiddlehead Kitchen area as improvements continue along Main Street.

🚗 The good news? We’re still easily accessible! Parking remains available in front of Tangen Drug, and our back parking lot is always an option for customers visiting the pharmacy or other Main Street businesses.

Progress continues on Main Street! Here’s your weekly construction update!

🚧 Sidewalk Updates: The sidewalks near the post office have been replaced! However, they are currently still blocked off and are not yet open for pedestrian use.

🚦 What’s Coming Next: Beginning Monday, October 12th, crews plan to transition traffic and pedestrian controls to Stage B, focusing on the east side of Main Street (STH 87) between E State Street and E Massachusetts Street.

Construction crews are scheduled to begin removing existing concrete on Tuesday, followed by electrical work on Thursday. Preparations for new concrete will continue throughout the week.

🚗 Parking & Store Access: Parking along the east side of Main Street may be affected during construction. If parking in front of Tangen Drug becomes limited, customers are welcome to use our back parking lot and rear entrance to access the pharmacy and other Main Street businesses!

Construction may bring a few changes, but Tangen Drug and our neighboring businesses are here and ready to welcome you!

🚧 Main Street Minute prescribed by Tangen Drug! 💊

Things are taking shape on Main Street! Crews have been busy replacing curbs and are currently working on the sidewalk by the post office. They’ll continue preparing areas for new sidewalks and ramps as progress continues! 👷‍♂️

According to the city’s latest update, the construction timeline has been extended, with milling and paving now scheduled for mid-October through early November.

Stopping in? We’ve got parking options! Parking remains available in front of the store on both sides of the street, plus in our back parking lot.

💊 Main Street Minute, prescribed by Tangen Drug

Not much has changed outside the store this week! Street parking is still available in front of Tangen Drug, and you can also park in our back lot.

According to the city’s latest update, the contractor expects to set grade stakes in the areas where concrete was removed today. Parking and traffic impacts should be minimal for the rest of this week.

Next week, crews plan to replace the curb, gutter, and sidewalk where concrete was removed between Illinois Street and Minnesota Street. Parking on the west side of Highway 87 may be affected while that work is underway.

We’ll keep you posted as things progress. Thanks for continuing to shop local!
