Survivor Wellness is honored to receive this meaningful gift from the Salt Lake City Fire Department! We are deeply grateful for the dedication, service, and commitment our firefighters bring to our community every day.
During a visit to Survivor Wellness, Fire Chief Karl Lieb shared the department’s motto: “Prepare Effectively, Respond Professionally and Impact Positively.” These words resonate deeply with our own mission.
This generous gift will help Survivor Wellness continue its work serving individuals diagnosed with cancer throughout their lifetime, as well as the caregivers whose lives are also profoundly impacted by a cancer diagnosis.
Providing survivorship support, wellness services, compassionate care, and community in two welcoming, historic homes, Survivor Wellness is committed to ensuring that no one has to navigate the cancer experience alone.
We also recognize that firefighters face a significantly elevated risk of cancer due to occupational exposures. As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to remind our Salt Lake City community that cancer prevention and early detection deserve attention year-round.
We encourage everyone to take proactive steps to reduce their cancer risk through recommended screenings, healthy lifestyle choices, and minimizing exposure to known carcinogens. Prevention shouldn’t be limited to one month on the calendar!
And, should you or someone you love need support, Survivor Wellness is here.
Thank you, SLC Fire Department, for your generosity, your service, and your dedication to making a positive impact in our community! ❤️
