A few important thoughts for tender humans. 🤍

You don't have to have it all figured out.

You don't have to turn every hard experience into a lesson.

You don't have to be the strongest person in the room.

Sometimes we need space to process. Sometimes we need a little help finding our footing. Sometimes we just need someone who can sit with us without trying to change us.

We're building a community where healing doesn't have to be a solitary project. Where curiosity is welcome, vulnerability isn't a weakness, and you can show up as a human being instead of a polished version of one.

Which thought did you need to hear today?

Leave it here. Someone else might need it, too.

Leah loves Buc-ee’s. I do not.

And after approximately 90 seconds of discussion, we discovered that the exact same place can be a sensory playground for one person and a sensory obstacle course for another.

She gets:
🐿️ ALL THE THINGS
🐿️ So many choices
🐿️ Novelty!
🐿️ Organized chaos!
🐿️ Tiny treasures!

I get:
🚨 TOO MANY THINGS
🚨 Too many people
🚨 Too much visual information
🚨 Too many decisions
🚨 Why are there 47 kinds of beef jerky?!

Neither of us is experiencing Buc-ee’s incorrectly.

Our brains just have very different relationships with stimulation.

And honestly, I think there’s something healing about learning to say:

“This works beautifully for you. It does absolutely nothing for me.”

We don’t have to experience the world the same way to understand each other.

Sometimes we just have to stop insisting that our way is the default. 🤍

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the thing itself.

It’s making the call.
Opening the email.
Making the appointment.
Starting the conversation.
Taking the first step.

And sometimes you don’t need someone to fix it for you.

You just need someone sitting beside you while you do it.

That’s parallel play.
That’s moral support.
That’s “I’ll be right here.”

Healing doesn’t always look like a breakthrough. Sometimes it looks like sitting in a parked car, taking a breath, and finally making the call. 🤍

Who could use a little “I’ll sit with you” today?

There are days when movement is about strength.

And there are days when movement is about listening.

Today wasn’t about burning calories, hitting a goal, or becoming a better version of myself.

It was about moving slowly enough to notice where I was holding tension.

A few minutes.
A few breaths.
No performance required.

Gentle movement is still movement.

I didn’t need a breakthrough. I needed a shower.

When grief has your nervous system running in six different directions, sometimes the most helpful thing isn’t another insight.

It’s warmth.
It’s quiet.
It’s sensory comfort.
It’s giving your body somewhere safe to land.

One small act of care at a time.

This is what healing looked like today.

My body remembered before I did.

I spent most of the week trying to figure out what was wrong with me.

Panic.
Exhaustion.
Brain fog.
Agitation.
That feeling of having 47 tabs open and no idea which one is making the noise.

Then Saturday, I remembered.

Nine years since Nana.
Five years since Mom.
Five years and one day since my stepfather.

Of course this week felt heavy.

Grief doesn’t always announce itself with tears and memories. Sometimes it moves quietly through the body first.

So Sunday, I stopped trying to fix it.

I rested.

Maybe that’s part of healing too: learning to listen when your body remembers something your mind hasn’t caught up to yet.

Be gentle with yourself. Your body may be carrying more than you realize. 🤍

We’ve been a little quiet around here.

Sometimes you need a pause. Sometimes life takes you somewhere unexpected. Sometimes the work happening behind the scenes matters just as much as what you share publicly.

Leah is back home in Texas, and we’re ready to find our rhythm again.

We’ll be sharing more conversations, reflections, practices, and opportunities for healing as we move into this next chapter.

We’re back. Let’s begin again. 🤍

What are you beginning again right now?
