This one is extra special. ๐๐
Mya reminds us every day that there is so much more to a person than a diagnosis or disability. Weโre grateful to Warm Springs Foundation for helping TEAMability create more opportunities for Mya and so many others to grow, participate, connect and shine.
And Mya? Sheโs pretty darn amazing. โจ
At just 16, Mya Haywood sustained an anoxic brain injury that left her with significant physical and cognitive disabilities. After spending six months in the hospital, Mya and her family faced an uncertain road ahead.
With support from TEAMability, Inc., part of the Warm Springs Foundation Circle of Care, Mya has made meaningful progress in her strength, mobility and balance. Now 19, she continues to build confidence, reach new milestones and find more opportunities to communicate, connect and share her spunky, music-loving personality.
โShe is still Mya. There is so much more to her than her disability.โ - Crystal Perez, Myaโs mother and primary caregiver
