Ladies, when was the last time you felt genuinely grateful for how YOU showed up for yourself? 💚

We talk so much about gratitude for the people, experiences, and blessings in our lives. But how often do we acknowledge the ways we're learning to honor our own needs?

For many women, our nervous systems have become accustomed to doing, giving, managing, and accommodating. Rest, reciprocity, and receiving can feel unfamiliar.

And that's why learning to receive doesn't begin with simply telling ourselves to relax.

It begins with noticing what happens in our bodies when we choose OURSELVES.

Maybe it's saying NO to another obligation. Setting a boundary with someone you love. Or telling a friend, “I care about you, but I don't have the space for that right now.”

Can you pause long enough to FEEL what happens inside when you honor yourself?

Perhaps there's relief, spaciousness, or even discomfort. All of it is information.

When we acknowledge these moments, we can begin developing gratitude toward ourselves and recognizing what feels nourishing rather than merely familiar.

And this is exactly what we'll be practicing together! 🌿

JOIN MY 21-DAY GRATITUDE & GENEROSITY CHALLENGE — $21

For three weeks, we'll explore FEEL • RECEIVE • EMBODY through a 4-page workbook, weekly meditations, weekly breathwork practices, and a supportive gratitude circle of women.

It's an invitation to slow down, orient toward yourself, and make more room for pleasure, joy, and receiving.

We've turned emotional wellness into a cognitive project... but we can't think our way out of an experience our body is living.

Ladies, how many of you have done ALL the personal development work?

You've read the books, listened to the podcasts, gone to therapy, learned about your childhood patterns, and developed a deeper understanding of WHY you do what you do.

And yet...

You still find yourself overfunctioning.

You still struggle to rest without guilt.

You still say YES when your body is screaming NO.

You still feel responsible for everyone else's emotional experience.

Here's something I want you to understand.

Awareness is important. But awareness alone doesn't always create a different experience inside the body.

Our nervous systems are constantly sensing, responding, protecting, and adapting based on our lived experiences.

And sometimes the behaviors we're trying so hard to FIX are actually giving us valuable information about what our bodies have learned.

This is why I believe emotional wellness needs to move beyond the mind.

We need to rebuild a relationship with the body.

We need to learn how to recognize our sensations, honor our emotional experiences, understand our capacity, and make choices that support our well-being.

Because the goal isn't to become a better version of yourself who can tolerate more. It's to become more connected to yourself so you can CHOOSE differently.

How many women have become so GOOD at surviving that they've forgotten what it feels like to truly LIVE? 🌿

As Kim shares her experience of being completely dissociated from her body, I can't help but wonder how many women will recognize themselves in her story.

Because here's something I see often in my work with women.

They are functioning. They're successful. They're caring for their families, managing their responsibilities, and showing up for everyone around them.

But inside their bodies?

They feel numb. Disconnected. Exhausted. Or constantly on edge.

And many don't realize these experiences can reflect nervous system survival strategies.

Dissociation isn't a personal failure. It can be the body's way of protecting us when an experience feels too overwhelming or unsafe.

But when we spend years operating in protective states, our capacity to access joy, pleasure, intimacy, and emotional connection can become limited.

And THIS is why I believe our conversations about emotional wellness need to go beyond the mind.
We need to bring the BODY back into the conversation. ❤️

Not by forcing ourselves to heal.
Not by turning ourselves into another self-improvement project.

But by learning to awaken our felt sense.

To recognize our internal sensations, emotions, boundaries, needs, and desires.

Because when we reconnect with what we FEEL, we begin creating more opportunities for CHOICE and AGENCY.

October is Emotional Wellness Month, and last week I published a blog exploring this very conversation:

🌿 Your Emotional Wellness Isn't Just in Your Head

I'd love to hear from you.

👇 Drop RELATE in the comments if you've ever experienced a season of life where you were functioning on the outside but disconnected from yourself on the inside.

It's time we stop simply surviving life and begin reconnecting with our capacity to EXPERIENCE it.

What if being calm all the time isn't actually the goal of emotional wellness? 🌿

I want to challenge something we often hear about nervous system regulation.
That the goal is to be calm, peaceful, grounded, and unbothered.
But from a somatic perspective, that's not the full picture.

True emotional wellness requires emotional RANGE.

The capacity to experience anger without losing ourselves.

To feel grief without completely shutting down.
To move through fear without abandoning our needs.

And equally important… to experience pleasure, joy, love, and connection without our bodies anticipating danger.

Here's something I see often in my work with women:
We've become incredibly skilled at tolerating discomfort.
We can push through exhaustion, override our emotions, manage everyone else's needs, and carry enormous amounts of responsibility.

But a high tolerance for pain is NOT the same as a healthy capacity for emotion.

And sometimes, the very protective patterns that help us disconnect from pain also make it harder to access pleasure.

This is why somatic healing goes BEYOND simply calming the nervous system.

It's about developing the flexibility, internal safety, and resilience to experience the full spectrum of being human.

And I'd love to explore this with you in person! ❤️

“The feminine trusts what she feels and lets her tenderness tell the truth.”

How many times have you felt something in your body and immediately talked yourself out of it?

I’m probably overreacting. It’s not that bad. I should be grateful. Maybe I’m being too sensitive. I can handle it.

Women have become incredibly good at overriding themselves.

But your body is communicating all the time. You feel the contraction when something doesn’t feel right. You feel the heaviness when you’ve been carrying too much. And you also feel the softening, opening, and expansion when something feels safe, nourishing, pleasurable, or deeply aligned.

Your felt sense matters.

This is part of the feminine work for me: becoming a woman who can feel deeply without automatically abandoning what she feels.

And during Emotional Wellness Month, I especially want us to remember that nervous-system regulation does NOT mean becoming calm, agreeable, or unaffected by life.

We need emotional range. We need to feel.

The deeper work is building enough capacity to stay connected to ourselves while anger, grief, joy, desire, pleasure, disappointment, tenderness, and everything in between moves through us.

So today, instead of immediately asking “How do I make this feeling go away?” try asking:
“What is my tenderness trying to tell me?”

🎁 I’m gifting my Self-Regulation Tools & Strategies Under Chronic Stress Guide throughout October to help you better understand your nervous system and explore resources for regulation and connection.

Comment “REGULATE” and I’ll send it to you, or grab it through the link in my bio.

It IS about how you feel, ladies. Get out of the HEAD and back into relationship with the HEART + BODY.

For some of us, that’s much easier said than done. We may have spent years suppressing what we feel or growing up in families where we watched women override their anger, swallow their grief, keep the peace, stay strong and continue functioning regardless of what was happening inside of them.

Eventually, we can become incredibly disconnected from our own felt sense.

This is why expanding our emotional range and capacity is such an important part of emotional wellness. And I want to be clear: I’m not talking about spiritually bypassing difficult emotions with love, light and positivity.

There can be important information underneath anger. There can be medicine in grief. Rejection can reveal what hurts. Disappointment can show us what mattered. And sometimes the emotions we’re trying hardest NOT to feel are the ones asking us to listen more closely.

The work isn’t becoming happy all the time. It’s developing enough safety and capacity in the nervous system to experience a wider range of emotions while remaining connected to ourselves.

That’s a very different definition of emotional wellness.

If you’re ready to start understanding your own emotional well-being through the body and nervous system, comment “EMOTIONS” below and I’ll send you information about a complimentary session.

Sometimes emotional wellness begins when the performance comes off.

A woman once walked into a session completely put together from head to toe. Hair, makeup, dress, fake eyelashes—the exterior looked picture-perfect.

Less than an hour later, she said, “I need to take these motherf*cking things off.”

The eyelashes came off, and so did something much deeper.

She began sharing the pressure she had been carrying to be the good mother, good daughter, good partner, good woman. She had spent so much energy trying to live the “right” life and maintain belonging that eventually she admitted something incredibly vulnerable:

“I don’t even know how to say how I feel.”

This is one of the conversations I want us having during Emotional Wellness Month.

We’ve turned emotions into something we need to manage, fix, hide, suppress, or keep convenient for everyone around us.

But your nervous system is part of your emotional experience—and your emotional experience matters.

Regulation does not mean being calm all the time. We need emotional range. We need to experience anger, grief, excitement, disappointment, desire, conflict, fear, pleasure, and joy.

A healthy nervous system moves.

The deeper work is developing the capacity to experience what is happening within you while remaining connected to yourself through it.
So perhaps the question this week isn’t “How do I keep it together?”

Perhaps it’s:

“What have I been holding together that actually needs permission to be felt?”

I’m going much deeper into this conversation in this week’s new blog:

What if emotional wellness isn’t primarily about managing your emotions?

For decades, much of the conversation around emotional wellness has centered on the mind. We’re encouraged to change our thoughts, manage our stress, control our reactions, think positively, and become more resilient.

And while our thoughts absolutely matter, this approach can leave out something essential: the body experiencing all of it.

We don’t simply think anxiety, anger, grief, overwhelm, connection, pleasure, or safety. We experience them through our bodies.

This is why I believe our conversation around emotional wellness needs to become much bigger:

MIND → BODY → NERVOUS SYSTEM → CAPACITY → EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE

In my newest article, Your Emotional Wellness Isn’t Just in Your Head, I’m exploring why we’ve turned emotional wellness into a cognitive project, how your nervous system influences your emotional experience, what happens when women continually override the body, and why nervous-system regulation does not mean being calm all the time.

I’m also exploring a question that has become central to my work:

What if some of the behaviors we’re continually trying to “fix” are also giving us information about what’s happening underneath?

Overfunctioning. People-pleasing. Difficulty resting. Emotional reactivity. Shutting down. Controlling outcomes. Feeling responsible for everyone around you.

Rather than immediately asking, “How do I stop doing this?” what changes when we become curious about what our bodies may be communicating?

Just because you CAN handle it doesn’t mean you should have to keep carrying it.

Many women have spent years becoming incredibly capable. We manage the responsibilities, care for other people, solve the problems, navigate difficult relationships, push through exhaustion, and keep life moving.

Eventually, being the woman who “can handle it” becomes part of our identity.

But there is an important difference between having capacity and becoming highly practiced at tolerating discomfort.

Your body may be able to keep going while simultaneously communicating that something needs your attention. Exhaustion, resentment, reactivity, difficulty resting, constantly feeling responsible for everyone, or struggling to receive support can all invite us to become curious about what we’re carrying.

Emotional wellness isn’t measured by how much we can endure. And nervous-system regulation isn’t about regulating ourselves enough to tolerate more of what continually overwhelms or disconnects us from ourselves.

Sometimes the nervous system needs support moving through an experience. And sometimes that support creates enough space to recognize that something actually needs to change.

A boundary. A relationship dynamic. A responsibility. A workload. The amount we’re carrying. The amount of support we’re allowing ourselves to receive.

And remember: we’re not only developing capacity for difficult emotions.

We’re developing capacity for pleasure, joy, intimacy, connection, receiving, rest, desire, and a deeper experience of our lives.

This Emotional Wellness Month, ask yourself:

Just because I CAN carry this… is it still mine to carry?

🌿 Throughout October, I’m offering $100 OFF a Private 1:1 Somatic Healing Session.

What if you were taught that PAIN was normal?

That pain was part of love. That being the “good girl” meant enduring, accommodating, forgiving, staying, and doing the right thing—even when something inside of you was screaming that it didn’t feel good anymore.

I learned this deeply.
I learned how to stay in circumstances way past their expiration date. I learned how to override what I felt. And eventually, I learned how to abuse my own body because the emotional pain underneath it all had become so loud.

That’s why Emotional Wellness Month means something much deeper to me than simply talking about managing stress or thinking more positively.

It gives us permission as women to talk about our emotional well-being.

Because many of us were never actually taught how to be with our emotions. We were taught how to suppress them, intellectualize them, numb them, push through them, make them more convenient for other people—or convince ourselves that enduring something painful was somehow proof of our strength, goodness, or love.

But what if emotional wellness also means learning to feel what you feel and allow that information to matter?

What if you stopped making every decision based on what you think is the right thing to do and started becoming radically curious about:

What actually feels good for me?
What feels healthy?
What feels reciprocal?
What feels nourishing?
What does my body keep telling me that I’ve been overriding?

Feeling is only part of the work.

The deeper invitation is learning to listen to what you feel—and then having the courage to take RADICAL ACTIONtoward the life, relationships, boundaries, and experiences that support your emotional well-being.

You are allowed to question what you were taught to endure.
You are allowed to discover that something being familiar doesn’t necessarily make it healthy.

And you are allowed to want a life that doesn’t require you to continually abandon yourself to maintain it.

If this clip lands somewhere deep in you, drop “ME TOO” in the comments. 🤍
