Ever felt like ADHD is just an “excuse” for being [insert something mean]? 🤔 Let’s set the record straight and dive into what ADHD really means!

➡️ Misconception #1: ADHD is just about hyperactivity.
Truth: It’s much more than that! Many people with ADHD struggle with focus, organization, and emotional regulation—even if they’re not bouncing off the walls.

➡️ Misconception #2: Only kids have ADHD.
Truth: ADHD doesn’t magically disappear with age. Many adults are living with it, often undiagnosed.

➡️ Misconception #3: ADHD is just a lack of willpower.
Truth: ADHD is a neurological disorder. It’s not about willpower—it’s about how the brain processes information.

➡️ Misconception #4: ADHD means you can’t focus at all.
Truth: People with ADHD can hyperfocus on things they’re passionate about, sometimes to the exclusion of everything else!

➡️ Misconception #5: Everyone with ADHD is the same.
Truth: It’s a spectrum, and everyone experiences ADHD differently.

Sharing my own experience, I once thought ADHD was just about being fidgety. Now, I know it’s so much more, affecting everyday life in unexpected ways.
