Still buzzing from my visit to Balanced Body headquarters for the Pilates Perspective Podcast✨
I had the opportunity to sit down and talk about one of my favorite subjects: the pelvic floor—and how we can bring a more informed, whole-body perspective to it within Pilates.
We talked about pelvic floor anatomy and function, common pelvic health conditions, and—most importantly—how the way we cue the pelvic floor matters. Because it isn’t simply about “engaging” or “lifting.” The pelvic floor needs to respond, lengthen, coordinate with breath, manage pressure, and adapt to the movement and the person in front of us.
What excites me most about this conversation is the ripple effect. 💫
When we empower teachers with a deeper understanding of the pelvic floor, they can empower every person they teach—helping students better understand their bodies, recognize when something may need more support, and move with greater confidence and connection.
Pelvic health education shouldn’t live only inside the walls of a pelvic PT clinic. The more movement professionals understand it, the more people we can reach.
So grateful to Balanced Body for creating space for this conversation. 🤍
