BVLA is RJC Certified!

After a 2-year process including a very thorough audit carried out by a team sent from Geneva, Switzerland, we are proud to announce that we are now certified members of the Responsible Jewelry Council.

This was no small task – Our entire supply chain was examined – every gemstone we purchase - traced from vendor to the mines where they originated, making sure there are absolutely no instances of human trafficking, money laundering and a host of other ills affecting a sometimes-murky industry. We are the ONLY jewelry manufacturer in our industry to be awarded this designation. Up there with the likes of Cartier and Tiffany.

This is an award that the whole piercing industry can be proud of. Your clients can feel safe in the fact that every BVLA piece they buy is honestly and transparently ethically sourced - and produced, our facilities are clean and safe, our staff are happy and treated well, that we are working hard towards environmental goals, and so much more.

Please know that this is not a one-time thing – additional audits occur every 18 months – we must keep or promises and advance our goals in order to maintain our status!

Our original downtown location has a new look. Booking is open now.

Hi everyone,

This is Chavez, owner of SLO Piercing.

After more than three years of construction, we've returned to our original home next to the Anderson Hotel at 963 Monterey Street, in the historic part of downtown SLO, right across from Urban Outfitters and Boo Boo Records.

As many of our long-time clients know, this location closed for renovations back in March 2023. We're thrilled to be back with a completely refreshed studio.

We don't have signage up yet, but don't let that stop you. We're open for business and taking bookings right now.

I'll personally be running the Downtown location. Over the past few years I stepped back from piercing full-time to focus on growing the business, and I'm excited to be back where it all started.

During that time, I listened closely to client requests and looked at three years of data on what's most popular, so 963 Monterey will be focused on our most requested services and jewelry.

Many long-time clients have asked when I'd be back to piercing.

I'm happy to announce that I am back and I can't wait to see familiar faces again at our downtown location.

Meanwhile, our 474 Marsh Street location continues running strong with Raven and Clover.

Our Marsh location will remain open!

We've expanded into the two units next door, giving us a much larger lobby for jewelry browsing.

A few months ago we were working out of a much smaller space, with no real room for browsing and an appointment-only policy.

Due to high demand, we expanded into the two additional units next door, so we could better serve both walk-ins and appointments.

We still strongly recommend booking ahead if you want a piercing or jewelry installation, since we book up quickly, but you're also welcome to stop by and browse our new jewelry selection.
